Anyone else have electric/sciateca type pain while using HRT
« on: October 03, 2024, 12:54:01 PM »

Hey all,

Anyone else start getting sciatic type pain in the thigh after starting the estro gel and progesterone tabs (for perimeopause) ?

Here's my experience.

I started with gel and tabs, and a day or two in, I started to get electrical type pain in my upper thigh (on and off) thought some stretching would help and didn't think it was anything to do with HRT. went about my life managing the pain bouts, as you do.

Then a two weeks in, my leg had a bout of electrical pain that saw me in A&E i couldnt walk it was so painful and nothing would making it stop.

I was given muscle relaxants and an MRI, blood tests, ECG and all came back ok. Medical professionals are super puzzled, they said rest for two weeks and take muscle relaxants, I did and this coincided wih my two week break from HRT meds to have my cycle.

Then this morning, I went back on the HRT and low and behold the pain is back!

HELP!

Anyone had similar?

Hi!  :welcomemm:  I don't remember any1 having this reaction.  Which symptom would you like to ease first with replacement?

As oestrogen levels drop muscles may become lax = aches and pains.  Hopefully some1 will be along! Browse round.  Make notes ;-)
