Suddenly lightheaded
« on: October 02, 2024, 09:22:36 AM »

Hi. Although I thought I had most peri symptoms, just out shopping and went slightly lightheaded. Not enough to pass out but enough to feel not good. Just read this is another symptom. I took my blood pressure and thats fine, I had a good healthy muesli breakfast, im not dehyrdrated but just feel like I want to lie down. Never had this symptom before. 7 months no periods and just praying to gallop to the 12 month finish line ASAP
Anyone else getting this please

Yes me , i got this symptom around 2 years into peri , it’s plagued me on and off every since I’m on hrt but it’s not stopped it happening no other medical reason as to why, ive  had a lot of tests done over the years .
The way you describe it is how I feel as In it’s not enough to pass out but i almost feel slightly drunk like I’m swaying but I’m not , my first experience of it too was when I was out shopping.
I don’t have any words of wisdom only empathy and to let you know it’s definitely in my case a menopause symptom.
By all means do get checked out by your GP it could be an ear problem but for me that was ruled out .

Take care hope it disappears and never comes back for you x

Slightly tipsy for no reason  ::)

I have a nerve in the back of my neck which makes me go woozy occasionally, enough to go 'OH!' but never long enough to be troublesome.  Had U eaten?

Ooh that sounds painful. Yes I had muesli and fresh raspberries for breakfast like I do every day. Felt totally ok when I drove to the store. I did do something I dont normally do though thinking about it and that was have a few cups of coffee. I haven't had caffeine for ages and im wondering if it could be that....

Yep.

I was leaning over the bath washing my hair a few moments ago and had 'a moment', enough to make me go 'oh my head' but it was instantly gone.

That sounds like a sudden drop of blood sugar.  MayB time to take a good look at your overall diet for 5 days, 24/7 and adjust what you eat and when - our needs alter during perimenopause.  But don't try to grab my chocolate off me  ;D
