Struggling with changes in HRT
« on: September 30, 2024, 04:31:14 PM »

Hello, I would welcome some advice.

I was taking Evorel Sequi patches for approx 5 years, I am 56. I had a bleed every 28 days.

After HRT review with GP she changed me to Evorel Conti and said I may continue to bleed for upto 6 months. This was 8 weeks ago.

I wasn't prepared for what has happened since.

I am bleeding about once every 4 weeks it feels like a full on period, bright red blood, clots, stomach ache.  I then spot a bit in between the heavier bleed (approx mid point).

GP did say this may happen, but is it usual for it to be this heavy. I had no issues and no spotting on sequential just a regular 28 day light/medium  bleed for 4-5 days.

To add to this I feel not too great.

I have not slept very well for weeks
My hips and legs ache so much as do my elbows and wrists at times.

I seem to have turned in to an unrecognisable woman, terrible brain fog, mood swings which are frightening. I can go from calm and happy to fiercely angry, then highly anxious, tearful then hyper within 3-4 hours.

I have not been able to go to work for a while  because my mental health is so fragile at present with low mood and anxiety.

Please can someone offer some peer support with this awful situation.

I am trying to help myself, yoga twice weekly, gym 3 times weekly, but I just feel so low and exhausted.

I am 1 point above the lowest range for iron, I wonder whether this has dipped lower?

Thank you

I went fr9m sequi to conti Because I didn’t cope with the fluctuations in the changes in dose of patch every b2 weeks but since conti I’ve bled more on than not ,bright red, clots then stop for brown sludge etc so am picking up femseven conti tomorrow and use next change of patch, this has been good 7 months or so
