late/missed withrowal bleeding after utrogestan?
« on: September 27, 2024, 06:38:04 AM »

Hello ladies, wonder if any of you have the same experience. I have been on sequential HRT for a year and  6 months ago switched to Utrogestan. I'm on evorel 75 patch and 10 days 300 utrogestan and a privet consultant prescribed that. My period was pretty regular but getting lighter and this month I'm on 32 days and nothing only very light pinky browny discharged on the day I was supposed to get a period. Is any of you skipped period? and how I supposed to know when to take utrogestan?.I'm 52 in January

Hi.  Why did your regime alter, was replacement not working efficiently enough?

What speciality is the Consultant?

I didn't need HRT so my periods waxed and waned for a few years.  Hopefully some1 will be along with sensible advice.

Hi, Gynaecology consultant, he altered my hrt because have some small breakthrough bleeding after 200 utro and the new advice is that for higher estrogen 75 and 100 should be higher progesterone. The scan was done and all was in normal range. I think that I'm going more into late perimenopause, to see how long breaks between cycles will be in the next month.

When using HRT 1 can't always know when we are into peri and through to the last monthly period = menopause.

How good is the Gynaecologist?  Some have little knowledge about HRT requirements, however - U may have found a good 'un.

He has a good knowledge of menopause and HRT. :) Perimenopause is a roller caster, I feel better on higher estrogen ...see how it goes and when my next period will arrive...is 7 days after stopping utrogestan and  just a very small light spotting started today

MayB not enough hormone to push a 'proper' period through.  I had brown staining 2 days after each bleed stopped, normal 4 me  ::)

If he's a good guy, don't share or we will all be there  ;D

My own cycle was always stronger than the hrt one so probably it's your own hormones messing it up. Medical advice is to continue with the hrt cycle regardless although if you find the two are consistently out of step you could adjust the hrt cycle to fit your own. Personally I'd reset it if your own bleed comes soon (I have a theory that this medical advice was issued by someone who hadn't had to live through it  :)).

I have this same thing, my last two “cycles” were 38 days and 32 days. I just always count day one of the withdrawal bleed as day 1 and take my utrogestan on days 15-26 as directed, regardless of when I actually bleed.
