Sore privates
« on: September 22, 2024, 02:59:21 PM »

For the last 2-3 months I have had problems down below. It started with raw skin between the bum cheeks and now it is raw, itchy, swollen, weeping from the front all the way to the top of my bum cheeks.
I am on cortisone cream and also use E45 along with matanium cream and nothing is helping.
I also had bloods done recently and that has come back with incorrect levels of Androgens. Got follow up for this with Dr tomorrow, but has anybody else suffered with this?
Its making me irritable and weepy.

OUCH!  Who prescribed the cortisone, it may be too strong.

Initially was the area itchy?

I would go onto Savlon which heals.  Or 'vaseline' which may sting  :o.  To form a barrier between urine for example and the already broken skin.

Make a list of worries to take with you.

You probably need a referral to a dermatologist. It could be a range of skin problems, eczema, dermatitis or lichen sclerosis. Which cortisone cream are you using? Dermovate is one of the stronger ones and should help but don't use other creams at the same time (couple of hours before or after) as they could cause a barrier and block absorption.

Have you tried any vaginal hrt? I haven't experienced the weeping you describe but my flare ups of discomfort can be front to back.

Could be lichen sclerosis, in which case a steroid cream would help. If you are able,  check for any changes or lighter areas of skin in that whole genital area, back to front. Regardless of what it is, go commando, stop using anything like shower gel or soap and use a good emollient to stay moisturised. If you can think of any changes you might have made, foodwise, laundry detergent etc, make a note of that, and also what you have tried already.

I would have been back to the GP pronto if issues hadn't started to ease within the week!  No need to suffer, let us know how you get on, what has been suggested?

Did the Dr examine you?   :-\ - if you have weeping buttocks/cheeks area then this needs careful treatment, something soothing me thinks.
