Most days I don't bother with panty liners - it depends what I am wearing.  I tend to use them if I need that daytime smear of Ovestin on the outer of the vaginal area.
I am refusing to go off the daily dose of internal Ovestin just yet.  Day 22 and I am feeling largely improved.  However, the nurse practitioner and my usual GP said to carry on and have a review at 3 months, just in case I can reduce the dose over time.

You seem well in control of your treatment dosage and supportive medics behind you, as it should be.
I don't think in the near future there will be a need to have reviews with topical oestrogen as we can now buy the products ourselves to control symptoms.

Unfortunately, here in Australia, we still need a doctor prescription to obtain estrogen products including Vagifem and Ovestin. But once you have a good rapport with your doctor, you can just have a Telehealth appointment which is bulk billed, for a script repeat.  Looking forward to the day when estrogen products can be purchased over the counter.

Australia is usually behind other nations but do catch up eventually. Although these treatments are available to buy over the counter they are very expensive but thankfully still available on prescription.

We are getting to the point here if you shop around you will find a cheaper Estriol cream under a different brand name making it more affordable and even more in control on how we use it.  Its a lifetime treatment, it should be made easier to obtain but things are definitely getting better.

Cotton knickers should suffice ....... because they allow the body to breathe.  As the body dries due to oestrogen loss  :-\

I don't just use panty liners for leakage, although I have no problem absorbing the estrogen, Vagifem does leave a residue from the fillers that can sometimes  irritate if left in the pants. They also come in handy when you need to dash to the loo and there's a queue and you have a crossed leg situation.
For me they act as a comfy pad and barrier if I'm wearing jeans or sitting for long periods.  If you're out all day it's nice to freshen up and change the pad, especially if you're at work all day.

They are useful for so many reasons, no 1 for me is keeping fresh when on long walks, to come home and change a pad feels like putting on a clean pair of knickers to see me through the rest of the day.

You do have to buy the right type when you suffer with GSM because some of them can be drying and that's not what you want but I wouldn't be without them now.
