« on: September 01, 2024, 04:20:50 PM »

Hi new here. I'm 57 5to 7 yr post meno, I have tryed herbal stuff, and hrt, and biodentical hrt. But it all does the same reactions
I cant sleep at all,
breast soreness and nothing helps with it
Mood swings, which can be bad were ill throw things
Crying
Feeling depressed and bad anxiety
But the breast soreness just keeps on getting worse
I was on evorel50 patch and utrogestan 200mg to insert vaginally which made things itch,
Last time I tryed these I had to swallow the utrogestan and the side affects started to show up on day 2 , and brrast soreness was way worse, I couldn't lie down on my side as they ached n throbbed,
This time it was by day 4 that they got bad.  And I was really depressed I didn't wa t to goto work or go out of house.
And I got taken of them and sent for emergancie mammogram  all was ok
But this is the things I' have to put up.with everytime I yry somert to.stop the meno symptoms. I even get sore breasts with vagirux and that's very low dose,
I'm fed up, I'd love to be normal, and have sex or even a sexdrive would be good lol
But don't think body want the hormones back , I used to suffer bad with pms
But I'm a bag of nerves, I am jumpy, anxiouse, ratty, tired 57yr old , I don't smoke,I take care of myself,  don't drink , only drink 2 coffees a day that's in a morning,  my dr is gona ring me tomoz see what she says
Is anyone else the same or am I just a odd person lol xx

We're all odd in some way or another  ;) so Join The Club.   :welcomemm:

Which symptom would you like to ease first?  Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use. It may be that your body doesn't need replacement, however if you have frequency of urine or soreness, then appropriate 'vagifem' or 'estriol'/'ovestin' is the way to go.  Using every. night for 2-3 weeks the idea is to replace the oestrogen being naturally lost which may cause the body to become dry: inside and out.

U could ask for an anti-anxiety medication or trial anti-depressants.  I believe that a couple ease hot flushes as well as 1 helping with anxiety.  This may be all that is required but you need to try both/either for at least 8-12 months.

Herbals aren't to be recommended for long-term use, also any benefits may be lost as hormone levels rise and fall.

Was the PMS cyclical?   How is your diet overall?  Eating every 3 hours, 24/7 can ease anxiety surges.

Hello,
I too would love to be “normal” again  :-\
I will be 61 next month and still dealing with all the symptoms you mentioned and more and have been for years. I have never taken oral HRT, just use topical estradiol since my complete hysterectomy in 2011. I have always taken care of my health, never drank or smoked, have always tried to eat right, but none of that seems to have mattered at this stage in my life. It gets really disheartening some days :'( I have often wondered if it’s just me or if there are other women going through the same thing. Some women just seem to breeze through menopause and don’t miss a beat, really amazes me how they do it. So to answer your question you are not the only one. I am very odd also :)

So sorry to hear this
You could try starflower oil capsules 1000mg begore food in the morning to help with the breast tenderness. It does take time.
Also switching to decaffeinated and cutting sugar out has much as possible slowly.
This may help with some of the symptoms
Unfortunately it's all trial and error

It's The Change - does what it says on the tin.

Keeping a mood/symptom/food diary might help too.  Shows us that we do get 'better' days.

Some ladies find that they need to over haul their diet becasue for example, alcohol no longer suits them.  DH and I cut out a lot of highly processed foods 2 years ago and since then I've felt a lot better.  These processed foods are made so that the body never feels 'full' or satisfied = people eating more of them without being aware that there is literally, no goodness in the stuff.

I was able to eat do-nuts etc. until recently, now a scone with jam/cream really upsets my digestion.  Casse63 it isn't 'just you'.  Our bodies change all the while but at this time of Life we seem to become more aware of that.  'some women' ........ stop comparing yourself, there's plenty of info on here and other dedicated menopause sites to ask questions and share experiences.

Painful breasts  - can impact 24/7 - have U tried pain relief?

Hello Grumpy and welcome to the forum.

I totally sympathise! I just can't get back on an even keel no matter what I do. It's exhausting.

I am currently trying to build up my oestrogen levels with HRT to see if that helps.

Cass63-  I agree! How do other women do it?
I know many who smoke and or drink, they are on statins or meds for high blood pressure, pre diabetic, you name it, all sorts of stuff that could be lifestyle related but it doesn't bother them and they are untroubled by meno symptoms. I do all the recommended stuff but my hormones are a constant nuisance. I am almost 68, on HRT but I actually had a night sweat last night FFS! I could cry and cry...

Apologies for the rant ladies!

Wishing all sufferers well and sending hugs.

K.
