Oestro gel
« on: September 03, 2024, 08:36:50 PM »

Hi

I've recently swapped to Oestrogel and instead of a 75 patch and I'm on 3 pumps of gel in the morning.  I started off with bleeding a day after starting the gel and this continued for about 2 weeks. That's stopped but what I've noticed is a couple of hours or so after the gel I'm feeling absolutely crazy. Really irritable, stressed, over whelmed at the littlest of things. But by the evening i feel better. Oh and my breasts and nipples hurt.
I don't know if anyone else has felt like this.
I spread the gel over each leg and one arm.  I'm naturally very thin. So don't know if I'm getting a big wack quickly.  But I just feel awful mentally.

Hi, I understand how you feel!  I am not on the gel but I was using BiEstro estriol/estradiol topical cream for a while.  Most days I was fine but around the time that I would have had a period (I still seem to be on a 28-30 day cycle, without the bleeding - it seems hormones still release a little and I notice such a difference at different times of the month).

I notice I cannot tolerate the estradiol or progesterone around that time - it sends me a bit crazy.  I am agitated, impatient, I cry over nothing.  So, for 7-10 days each month, I am not having either cream and sticking with estriol vaginal cream instead.

Just a thought that it could be something similar.

shakilla before you reduce, you might try splitting the dose to get a more stable and steady dose. So perhaps 2 pumps in the AM and one before bed in the PM....
