Has anyone else noticed mixing words up?
« on: August 18, 2024, 11:32:22 PM »

I'm a bit worried about this but it seems to only be happening with the combined patch, and eases off on the estradiol only patch.

I'm only on 50 Estradiol (Evorel Sequi), now 54, and maybe I need more estradiol?

I'm not coming to the internet for medical advice, I am planning to get it checked but I just wonder on other's thoughts and / or if anyone else has had the experience of mixing up their words more than usual.

Generally it's the order of them, so if I were referring to 'Jayne's present,' I might first come out with 'present's Jayne,' and then immediately correct it.  It's all a bit strange.  I know that's within normal limits when it happens occasionally but I am noticing it as being a bit more than that at times.  And then it goes away.

No one I'm talking to is noticing anything weird, when I say to them 'look what I just said,' they just say 'we all do that at times,' but it's more frequent to me.

Anyone else have this weird symptom?  I will be telling the doctor, not easy here but I will.

I think everyone does it but us meno women do it more, then we concentrate more on it,if you see what I mean. It worried me at the start of doing it too,I'm constantly muddling words or forgetting the correct word but I don't worry about it so much anymore as it's never become worse over the years.  :)

Yep.  We often say to each other 'that was the wrong spelling' ....... B4 saying what we actually meant  ::).  My brain has felt. numb for years in that I can't remember a book after I have read it, information goes straight through one ear, out the other  :-\

I currently care for my father who has dementia, and it crossed my mind I had it starting too. My words jumbled up, and starting to speak and just nonsense coming out. I feel like my brain is in some sort of trance. Its not an age thing though I dont think, I reckon menopause is to blame.
Also have erratic thoughts and things from the past pop into my head for no apparent reason too

Yes, since perimenopause symptoms became more pronounced I've found the words sometimes come out wrong. This makes me feel rather embarrassed...especially when on work calls. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it as it happens in all situations. I think after the horrific mood swings the brain fog/lack of words is the worst part of peri.
