Thank you for updating us and I wish you the best of luck with your surgery.

The early diagnosis message is so important and I am also a proponent of annual well woman pelvic scans for all.

Please do let us know how your surgery went after you have recovered.

Hi Mowie.

I’m so glad you posted about yourself, I was always wondering how you were getting on, so I took the plunge and posted.
So so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, BUT, at least it’s being dealt with and hopefully, you’ll recover swiftly, then you can move on with your life.
My story is very much the same as yours.
Post meno 10 years, I’m coming up to 60 in December, and last year ( to the month actually) had to have a scan due to bleeding, which lead to an hysteroscopy, lining was 4mm or just over, but everything was fine, …carried on with my HRT, then 12 months later, just a little spotting, which tbh, was nothing much, and I was really tempted to ignore it, it was only because I’d developed what I thought was a Lichen flare up that I decided to get in touch with my gynaecologist, and just mentioned the spotting in conversation. 🤷🏼‍♀️
She said I needed another scan and then it was found my lining had grown to 10mm. Wow I said! I was and still am, confused as to why this has happened because I take 100mg Utrogestan every night. 🤷🏼‍♀️ (3, to 3 1/2 pumps gel) and I’m confused because my meno specialist told me 100 mg utro is enough for up to 6 pumps of gel. 🤷🏼‍♀️
The only thing that’s different with my scan results is that my lining is very irregular. It’s not the same thickness all over, or it wasn’t when it was 4mm. I was told that’s normally found in Perimenopause.
So Ive a few questions swilling around in my head for the gynaecologist when I get to see her.
I was also told I have a mild prolapse. So one way or another, I’m going to have either a hysterectomy or prolapse repair. ….fun fun fun isn’t it! 😩
It’s been 2 1/2 weeks now I’ve been waiting for the results, I am private tho, through my OH, so how long I’ve got to wait I don’t know. But the waiting is intense.
We’ve just got through cancer with my OH, so this we could really do without. ….but life carry’s on, and we deal with it don’t we? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Please keep us informed with how you’re doing, I’m sure you’ll be fine, and have your OH at your side.
Sending the very best wishes to you and your OH. And thank you again. xx

Had my results in, everything was fine.
At first she said it’s not a good idea to go back on HRT, then she said, see how you go, and if I really needed it to go back on it but increase my utrogestion to 200mg instead of 100mg.
She’ll scan me again in 3/4 months time, just to keep an eye on the lining.
As for the prolapse, she said it’s only a minor one, and again, we’ll just monitor it at the moment.
So I’m happy with all that.
Not sure about the HRT. Apart from night sweats and feeling hot in the day occasionally, I’m ok.
The anxiety I have was there when on HRT, so I shouldn’t really go back on it just for that reason, given my circumstances, but we’ll see, if symptoms get unbearable again, then I’ll think about it.
All in all, I’ve been lucky.
Just wanted to let you know.

Good luck Mowie with your hysterectomy, sending best wishes your way.  :foryou:

Im glad everything was ok jillydoll. At least you have a plan with the utro should you want to go back on hrt.

I take 200mg utro to keep my lining thin (hopefully).

I echo jillydolls sentiments Mowie, good luck with your surgery xx

Thanx Disco.
I'm really going to try to stay off hrt if I can. I'm praying I'll be fine without it.
I'm getting night sweats and feeling a bit hotter during day on & off, but it's not so bad.
So I'll see how I go.
Trying to be optimistic about it all, it's been 10 years nearly I've been postmeno,  so I'm hoping my 'make-up' has changed.
Fingers crossed anyway. 🤞🤞🤞🤞

How you getting on with 200mg Disco?
Any worse side effects?
Xx
