Lenzetto allergy?
« on: August 08, 2024, 07:17:30 AM »

I’ve plodded on with my HRT for many years now. I had an HRT review yesterday (first one I can recall!). I’m on Estradot patches and utrogestan cyclically even though I’m post menopause (I didn’t feel good on continuous). The nurse suggested Lenzetto, which I hadn’t heard of, because I get a rash under my patch and she wonders if it’s not absorbing properly, hence why I have symptoms. In the past I have tried other brands of patches causing worse irritation and rashes and the gel which caused a terrible allergic reaction, hot, burning, itchy skin. I avoid tablets due to age/weight/family issue of heart problems.

Just wondering if the spray will cause similar rashes. Only time will tell. Has anyone had similar?

Hi Grumpymum

Rash is listed as a common side effect, but maybe you won't be allergic to this one? Besides alcohol the other added ingredient is octisalate - which apparently is a synthetic sunscreen ingredient. I read this on the web though havent looked at any scientific literature on it:
"Octisalate has been deemed safe as used as used in cosmetics and is not considered an eye or skin irritant."
You can only try and hope it does not irritate?

All the best

I’m now on day 4 of using Lenzetto, started with one spray, and tried 3 today. I’ve alternated arms. I’ve got a slight rash in the crook of my arm, but not where I’ve sprayed. It’s mild and not itchy at present. I can’t think why the rash has come out there. Is it because the spray goes into the blood stream and the vein is taking it further up my arm?  Unsure if my lower arm vein is more noticeable than before, or maybe I’m imagining things! I’ll keep going and see what happens. At least I don’t have itchy red bum cheeks!
