Just a thought.....for those of you ladies that use an antidepressant along side HRT ...how have you found it?

Has anyone heard of or experienced an AD making peri symptoms worse?
I'm only asking as sertraline gave me such a bad reaction like agitation.....enough to send me to the hospital!
I'm on duloxetine now and have been 4 weeks and 4 days.
I've had alot of crying on this but with 8 days straight of no tears and good mood.
I don't think it's the HRT ....I work in psychiatry and they've said the crying is side effects and upon looking at various reports on Google...
.there is nothing to suggest antidepressants interfere with HRT....infact they say the opposite that they help tremendously.
But thought I'd ask you ladies if you've found them to be helpful with your HRT and symptoms?

Just to add I also use lorazepam when teary.....sometimes. this has stopped the crying other times not.
But some days I won't get tears at all but it just seems to be my worst sid effect if you will....very unpredictable. 
But I guess I'm only 5 weeks nearly??

It wouldn't cross my mind not to continue with my antidepressant medication:Escitalopram  : and an emergency as necessary anti-anxiety medication; with HRT or any other meds to be honest.

What worries U the most?

It was just to see if anyone has had a bad reaction or experience while on HRT and an AD

I would be interested too.  Is there anything in the leaflets in the boxes to suggest that taking them might cause problems? 

If U are worried and if no1 pops up here, then perhaps ask a Pharmacist?

Hi..
I am on hrt and citalopram, I would also not stop taking citalopram as I feel its quite helpful as hrt wasn't enough to stop severe anxiety and mild depression...
I am still trying to find the right balance but these meds can take months not weeks to have a full effect...
I had no hrt side effects while starting citalopram just the usual antidepressants ones....I understand it is safe to take antidepressants along side hrt with no problems...
