Hi all, I’ve had an internal examination and all fine apart from a polyp, they think I may be in perimenopause so suggested I have a coil fitted, my internal examination was really painful, and they have said that they would like to have a look with a camera too, has anyone any advise that will make me more comfortable while having this done and does it hurt as much as the internal?
I’m currently on HRT femeston2/10’, but they think I need a little more progesterone, hence the coil.

This is your body, U don't have to agree to anything suggested immediately.  Hopefully some1 will be along with advice.  U still have your womb = progesterone requirement.  Who made this suggestion?

How old R U?  Which symptom would you like to ease with HRT?  How long have U been using the Femeston?

You can ask for local anaesthetic and sedation if necessary.

The mirena IUS can be inserted at the same time as the hysteroscopy.
It is really effective for thinning the womb lining and preventing bleeding.

If you do get a mirena you will then need to change your estrogen as a cyclical combined preparation would longer be appropriate.

I had a coil fitted a year ago, I'm not going to lie it was very uncomfortable having it fitted but as bombshell says local anaesthetic is an option, I wish I knew this at the time..however I was also put on vegifeme at the same time and when I had a coil check I think a month or so later it didn't hurt at all so I think vegifeme for me is a god send...the coil took a little while to settle with spotting etc..otherwise it has been fine..no periods are a bonus but use coil really for protecting lining of the womb from eastrogen hrt I have.

When I had mirena I also had biopsies taken and knocked myself out on gas and air, awesome!
Sadly it fell out after 4 monthd

Was it the trampolining then Booroo ?  Did U have another fitted?  Biopsies OK?
