That very high FSH indicates you are menopausal.

The low estradiol is consistent with a postmenopausal lady taking a low dose of hormone therapy.

It is below the level that is commonly accepted to offer bone protection (250pmol/l NHS,  300pmol/l private specialists) and below the level at which most symptomatic individuals would gain relief.

Progesterone is very low. This is not a cause for concern as you are on a synthetic progestin via your patch.

What were you hoping the blood results would tell you?

Hello all the leaves.

For reference the lab that tested my oestrogen noted that post meno women not on HRT would have a level of up to 118 pmol/L.

I am post meno and my Nurse Practitioner wants to get me to 200 pmol/L, ( from it's current level of 74 pmol/L so quite a way to go!).

I hope this is of some help and take care.

K.

Thank you that’s very helpful, I was trying to work out how far into menopause I was as wasn’t having any symptoms before the radiation, Also they were presuming I was peri menopause because I have had a period in a year , and I was wondering if I would be better on a continuous progesterone, rather than sequi , and I am struggling with the progesterone part , but I have anxiety and depression, which is making it difficult x

Hello allthleaves, hopefully someone will be along soon who can decipher the results.  My meno consultant told me they like Oestradiol to be above 250 for bone protection, otherwise I think it goes on how you feel and symptom control.
Could I ask with Medichecks, did you do a finger or venous blood sample?

It was a finger sample though i was careful not to use fingers that put patch on and i have always not touched the sticky bit anyway

With an FSH of 94 you are balls deep in menopause and would be very unlikely to have another natural period.

For reference the FSH cut off points used by most authorities to indicate menopause are between 25 and 40.

A healthy premenopausal woman should have an FSH below 10 if taken during menstruation.

It's now a case of titrating treatment to your needs in terms of feeling well day to day and also maintaining bone and cardiometabolic health.

If you don't get on well with the progestin in evorel sequi there are other options, but if you are looking at the same preparation in the continuous form I would check the dose, as some fixed combo products use the same dose for sequi as they do for conti.
