I feel for you niecsey the post code lottery is so unfair, I think I was very lucky, from my GPs referral to my actually operation was under eight weeks, I did opt to be on the cancellation list and I only had a few hours notice to get to the hospital but I think I prefered it that way.

You must keep phoning up to see where you are on the list and have you visited the breasthealthonline site, the girls on the UK forum are very up to scratch on all you need to know and will give you all the advise you need dealing with NHS.

Thanks Niecsey and Ladyjane.

After putting it off for years it's frustrating having to wait now that I've finally plucked up the courage. I first saw my GP in June and nothing has happened at all!

Blimey! I've actually been given an appointment for the totally unnecessary physio I'm due to have. I hope I don't have to go too often as I feel like such a fraud.

THEN maybe the GP can tell the Powers That Be that it didn't work and THEN maybe someone will actually look at me!

Yaaaaaahhhh, Finally a step in the right direction. Before i had mines done i had to take cancer treating drugs that caused me problems, when my g.p. switched to another one i just went back a month later and said they made me feel worse, i was actually too frightened to take them.

I know niecsey, one of them was bromocriptine sp i think, i can't mind the other one, but they said on the leaflet to treat cancers? The 1st one caused vomitting and rectal bleeding.

Methotrexate is the normal cancer treating drug which can work wonders in other illnesses as well. You have to have regular blood tests and my dad used to take an anti-dote once a week but it gave him a new lease of life and though it can be frightening to see the words "for the treatment of cancer"  they do work where other drugs may have failed.

Hugs to all of you waiting for ops.

Taz. My hubby takes Methotrexate, it's really nasty, he also takes folic acid, but the weekends are ruined by these headaches from it. He has R.A.

My G.P. said he couldn't refer me for reduction, so this was a last resort for the stabbing pain and reaction to colder temps. Then he referred me to breast clinic to see if they had any other suggestions? So in answer to your question it was 6 months before reduction.
