Did Covid disrupt/affect your hormone levels?
« on: May 12, 2024, 05:59:47 PM »

So, I had a blood test for estrogen/Testosterone last week. My estrogen, which is usually around 200 mark was 18!! The doctor was shocked. She suggested a retest.

I take HRT - Evorel 50 and Utrogestan. Nothing has changed in my routine.

But then I realised, after the call, I did the test about 5 days feeling better from Covid (never had it before, and no idea how long it lasted).

Could it be the cause?  Should I wait a while to retest?

It is known that Covid affects hormone levels.  If you do a 'google', U may find research that might lead you to info..  If U do, let us know ;-)

Having covid kickstarted my mild perimenopause symptoms into utterly horrific one's literally overnight.

Dr Newson has talked alot concerning this topic.

So it may well have affected you but as with most things I'm discovering....finding out for sure is impossible.

That is interesting and a bit worrying.  Can I ask did it also affect your testosterone levels?  I am due a blood test for T and recently had covid so am wondering whether I should hold off a bit.

Sorry I can't tell you about testosterone levels. Never had mine checked or had any tests done regarding menopause except an estrogen check last year which the gp said was a pretty useless waste of time and gave it zero attention.

All I know is I'm in the throws of this and had no period for 17 months.
