Eczema and Scaring
« on: April 22, 2024, 09:38:16 AM »

I have a large scar on my head left by reconstructive surgery and since moving to a new area with very soft water I’ve noticed that my skin is much dryer.
I have now developed a mild eczema on my scalp where the scaring is and I am wondering if any of you ladies know of what would be a good moisturiser to use daily or other recommendations from others that have scaring issues.

I use a specialist silicone scar cream on my scars, plus VitE. Both help but my skin is still very dry in that area in the winter

I've never had any problems with my scar until now and I am wondering whether the extreme cold has caused an eczema flare.
I've never heard of the silicone scar cream and will check it out once I get over this episode whatever it is.

Have you had a look at the Scarteam website? There seems to be advice on there about scar flare ups.

Thanks for that, Taz2, I will be checking out the website.
A week on the flare has greatly reduced, I think it was caused by a recent virus but it made me realise that my scar needs to be better looked after.
