Hi there, keep going with them if you can, they're supposed to be one of the best, sadly by day 3 the nausea that they can cause forced me to stop taking them, they can take quite some time to get working so don't give up if you can  :)

A friend had no problems with a low start up dose, suited her well for 3 years.

Hi Daisie, my son has been taking them for years. He had depression and then was having quite bad anxiety attacks. Totally disrupted his life. The sertraline plus CBT saved him. It took a bit if experimenting to get the dose right but since then he's been ok.  He has effects if he forgets one and has tried to reduce on occasions but not successfully.  He still has anxiety but with the treatment he is leading a normal life and progressed in his career.

Hi Daisie
I’ve been on sertraline for a couple of years now. For me I had diarrhoea for a few weeks (no nausea) and just about gave up when, all of a sudden, it stopped - clearly, my body had got used to it.
It has been the best AD for anxiety (for me). Feel completely “normal” now (whatever that is  :o). Have, what I call, a normal reaction now in tricky situations. The only thing I have changed (in recent weeks) has been to take it at 5pm instead of first thing in the morning as I was feeling a bit sleepy during the day. It works for me.. :)
Fingers 🤞 for you..

For my daughter Sertraline has been life changing. I just wish she had been prescribed it earlier The side effects soon settled down. She was on 100 mg but has been on 50 mg for more than a year now and still doing really well.
