Hi, Tra72!

I know nothing about fibroids (just ovarian cysts) but your symptoms sound like peri to me.

I have very few days where I physically feel good.   Headaches, stomachaches, joint pain, va, hot flashes, cold flashes, anxiety, heart racing, etc.

My periods are beyond erratic:  15 - 77 days.    Some super heavy, some just spotting.   Some with many warning symptoms, some with no warning at all (that's fun).

Since June I've had many blood tests, transvaginal ultrasound, wore heart monitor for 3 days, and an abdominal CT.    Nothing was found.    That's obviously what I wanted but feeling off most days is not fun.

I agree it all sounds peri, I had a hysterectomy due to large fibroids but they were causing me significant disruption to my day to day life but yes depending on where exactly your fibroid is,it will cause you those symptoms x

I would have sudden attacks of intense nausea in my mid-30s, I knew where every waste bin was in every office, shop etc., in case.  Once I had to ask for the loo in the Pharmacy, she tried to direct me to the public loos half a mile away then took a look at my face  :o.  I was OK actually.

How is your diet?  counter intuitive but if the body needs sustenance it can be queasy  :-\

There's no sustenance in Special K cereal = empty calories within a couple of hours. Oh How I LOVED chocolate flakes that made a noise  ;D [meno brain can't remember the name though] ?? coco-pops ??.  For many years I had soup for lunch but as I aged it makes me windy ..... so that by T-time I'm too bloated for anything  :-\.

DH cooks from scratch most nights  ;).  U may find that U need to up the amount of sustenance to maintain energy levels.  My difficult meal choice is at lunch time  :-\.

Tra72 - for cereal I love Kashi Peanut Butter Crunch.  High in protein and fiber.   They have other flavors (cinnamon, honey almond) if peanut butter isn't your thing.

I eat a lot of flour tortillas (I use them instead of bread).   I switched to low carb tortillas as they are high in fiber and protein.  They taste just as good.

Instead of grocery store granola bars I eat Built Bars.   Again, high in fiber and protein.   They are pricey so I wait for them to go on sale.

What kind of meals/foods do you like to eat?   That will help to give you high sustenace ideas.

Nausea was a huge problem for me during my menstruating years.   :-\. Along with extremely heavy, painful, lotty periods  :'(

Oh you eat well tra72.  Try to avoid processed foods - I was oK with those until a 3 years ago when I realised that I was eating far too much! [long storey short].  Probably due to my exercise regime altering  ::)

I have had IBS for many years, my symptoms manifest themselves as slow transit  >:(.  My bowel feels as though it wants to open but nothing happens  :-\: this can go on for days, very rarely does my bowel feel empty!  It's not triggered by anything in particular .  Most days I'm successful ....... but when it is troublesome it makes going away from the house for very long quite difficult!

I begin my day with 'Lillyes' muesli [wrong spelling  ::)] with added sunflower seeds and dried bilberries: a dash of milk.  Black t, 2 sugars.  Lunch is difficult to choose: I have fads.  Evening meal will be freshly cooked meat/fish with at least 2 veg. : curry with boiled rice: DH can eat eggs but I am unable to digest them so miss out on lots of protein choices.

I've had to give up baked beans as they make me feel very bloated  :'(As long as no one tries to separate me from chocolate they will be fine  ;D

Substance: foods that the body takes a while to process.  Micheal Mosley's 'clever guts' book gave me an idea as to how long different foods take to process through the digestive tract.  Slow release foods: bananas, good quality muesli or porridge  :-X; [ go steady on adding extra veg. ;-).  ].  Don't cut out treats though !

Also in peri-menopause some find that they can't eat foods that have been enjoyable.  Or they develop sensitivities that they weren't expecting  ::).  I think the worse for many is that they are unable to process alcohol so have to give it up completely.

Keeping a mood/food/symptom diary can help [I may have suggested already].
