Hysteroscopy and biopsy
« on: March 01, 2024, 09:36:09 AM »

Hi all as anyone who have had a hysteroscopy and biopsy done still bled 2 weeks after having it done, when I went for mine I had just about stopped spotting and after having the procedure I knew I would bleed a bit, ive had this done twice before and even after having a polyp removed I only bled for one day after but this time 2 weeks after I'm still bleeding I have contacted them and they said it can go on for longer but I'm thinking thus don't seem right and I'm still waiting results,.

HiJan1234
I had my hysteroscopy/biopsy at the end of January and I bled a lot longer than I was expecting. Not as long as 2 weeks but think it was about 11 days...which wasn't heavy or anything but did surprise me as I had a hysteroscopy years ago and only bled the day after. This time I put it down to having the biopsy but wasn't sure.
I know they say it can go on for 2-3 weeks, that's what my info leaflet said. I would say give it another week then ring them again or your GP for advice. If it's heavy bleeding I'd probably ring earlier than that.

Sorry I'm not much help but maybe other ladies will help more.

Hi

I've had 3 hysteroscopies.  After my first 2 I think I bled for about 5-7 days.

But on my last hysteroscopy I bled very lightly on the day of the procedure, then had nothing until about 3-4 days later, when I started bleeding again.  This lasted about a week or so. So i would have been bleeding about 10-14 days after the procedure.

Hi Jan

I've had two hysteroscopies/biopsies The first I can't even remember any bleeding - maybe spotting on the first day. The second, a couple of years ago, I bled a lot for at least a week, longer I think and it was quite heavy and bright red blood which I agree is quite alarming - especially as in my case my HRT withdrawal bleeds are never quite that red and fresh! It did stop eventually though.

Glad yours has pretty much stopped!
