vaginal atrophy
« on: February 10, 2024, 03:02:06 PM »

Hi all. I have been using the yesyesyes VM vaginal inserts and gel for the last 10 months for vaginal atrophy and everything has been fine but lately the soreness has come back.I contacted the company and they confirmed none of the ingredients have changed. i can't take HRT cream because of breast problems. I've tried Olive and Bee cream, Vmagic cream and Sylk but they don't help. Does anyone know of any other good natural product I could use.
Thanks.

There is no reason not to take appropriate oestrogen replacement for vaginal atrophy.  My GP never queried my past history when he prescribed 'ovestin'.

Who gave you the impression that this isn't suitable for yourself?  Quality of Life is so important, once the initial 2-3 weeks nightly loading is done, many find that symptoms can be kept under control by insertion every 3rd and 5/6th nights.  What you are using will not replace oestrogen which is the usual reason for atrophy starting.

Thank you for replying. I've had a lot of stress lately because waiting for stomach and bowel biopsy tests so thinking the stress has set off the vaginal soreness again because I was keeping it under control. I get my results next Tuesday and if all ok will contact GP (even though you have to wait 3 weeks for a telephone appointment and then another 3 weeks if he/she decides they want to see you, blinking awful service here in Wales !).
I am a bit reluctant to go on HRT because I kept getting thrush while on it before but suppose I'm at the stage now that I want anything to stop the dreadful soreness. I'm 65 and the thought of living with this forever is awful.
Thank you again for replying.

Hi.  How's the weather over there?

Has thrush been confirmed or is it a discharge after using VA treatment?  The vagina cleanses itself until the lack of oestrogen causes dryness, hence the need for localised treatment.  Those products that you have been using won't replace the lost oestrogen though they may be better than nowt whilst U wait for your results.

Our surgery has a policy of asking whether an appt is urgent, if not it's 2-3 weeks wait for a face2face.   Is there a Nurse Practitioner who may seen you much sooner?
