Just come back from the doctors. She is referring me for an urgent biopsy for suspected cancer so I am having a full blown melt down right now 😭. Is this something they say for it to be a 2 week referral or is it the worst 😓😓
In pain,I know exactly how you're feeling honestly. I am stuck in the middle of the exact same nightmare and as I mentioned before I had a very blunt conversation with a GP who I had never even spoken to before until that day in December and his words have stuck with me for the past 2 months now. I hope you get referred quickly and don't have to wait as long as I have....the anxiety and emotional toll has massively affected me and still is, I didn't know that I could cry so much. I understand that all these referrals are standard but they scare the hell out of  you(I've had 5 referrals since October and each one gets harder). I just want you to know that there are many of us going through it or have been through it and we totally understand your anxiety and emotions right now. If I can help you more please ask.  :bighug:

Thankyou
I'm just trying to understand it all really 3 months ago my lining was fine and now this . I have been reading your posts and keeping my fingers crossed for you. My anxiety had reached an all time high 😥. As I left the doctors she said most women have good biopsy results and then puts in my notes suspected C. I rather her tell me to my face. Had referral unit phone me a out half hour after doctors to say they have referred me to gynecology and should hear in 10 days. I hope so cause the waiting is awful xx

Hiya

I'm currently on exactly the same so-called 'cancer pathway' and waiting for a hysteroscopy. It absolutely does NOT mean you have suspected cancer but just what they put on the notes in order to speed the investigations along. Your doctor said most women have good results, and that is the truth. Also your lining was fine three months ago and it is unlikely anything sinister will be going on now. But some doctors feel they have to mention the worst case scenario. I don't know why they do, because it causes so much anxiety. Also from what you say you might still be in peri and your own cycle is trying to take over and that is causing the extra bleeding. I have friends and family still having regular periods at 54.

I think that it is routine for anyone who has bleeding/thickened lining to go through the ‘2 week referral’ they do take biopsies to see what your cells are doing, very rarely it is cancer. The language they use creates lots of anxiety. To be honest, when I had mine done, it was really good to speak to the gynaecologist who was very reassuring. Using words like Urgent referral is really scary. Oh, the things we go through! This group is very supportive though, takes the scariness away, I’m glad I found it.

Hi I am 54 and was taken off sequi on to conti as supposedly should be menopausal and I did nothing but bleed came off hrt altogether had tvs which should lining of 11mm so had hysteroscopy 5 wks later lining fine.fast forward 5mths had another bleed so hormones checked and I am still in peri so bleed is a normal period had all the pmt too.so at 54 you may not be menopausal and now gp thinks that’s why lining was thick as my own cycle was in play

Hi Donna69
When the doctor said I should change to conti I told her I didn't think I was postmenopausal but she said cause I'm 54 I must be. I've stopped all my HRT at the moment until my gyne appointment.  I think the think I'm worrying about the mist is the lining is irregular is that worse than just being thick ? Xx

I had to have a scan last year my lining was 11mm and a possible polyp when I finally got my hysteroscopy he found no polyp and thin lining.it was the worst 3 mths of my life.not sure if mine was thick all over or not only just found out after been able to access my medical file I have several fibroids too that no one told me about at the scan.I have gone 5mths no bleeding then 2weeks ago started very heavy bleed after pmt,dr did blood tests which say I’m still peri but I am still spotting if it hasn’t stopped by next week I have to go back and then I imagine I will have all the tests done again I’m so anxious. But if you are still peri your womb lining will fluctuate or it may be a simple fibroid.I hate going through all this it’s the worst thing ever

So I'm still waiting for my 2 week referral appointment with gynecologist and going out of my mind with worry. I had full bloods done 2 weeks ago and they have all come back normal. However I am now feeling bloated and keep having clear mucus on the tissue after I've had a wee. Not sure if this is normal or hormonal or what. Stopped HRT 3 weeks ago. Any words of advice will be gratefully appreciated 🙂

I'm slightly different in that I was using vagifem pessaries. Had a small bleed, examined thoroughly and told to come off it for 4 weeks as she thought it was the estrogen. If I didn't stop using vagifem, she would have to refer me on the 2 weeks pathway as per guidance. That scared me and even though she seriously doubts its cancer,  I've asked for a scan. She said I'll be waiting about 8 weeks. It's very worrying. I've had no more bleeding but I want to be sure. I think the 2 week thing is standard if your post menopause. Sorry I can't help with the mucous. Is it different to normal vaginal discharge?

It could be ovulation? Some women have periods into their late fifties and you weren't post menopausal when you started HRT.Now you have stopped it maybe you have ovulated.

Yes it might be hormone related.

Or it could be the start of vaginal atrophy, I think that comes with clear discharge.
