Holidays 2024

Hi All
I have just renewed my travel insurance so can now book my 1st trip for 2024. I am planning 4/5 days in Amsterdam in March for my birthday week. Planning to visit the Anne Frank House. I know I need to book that about 6 weeks in advance.
Out of curiosity, how many of you declare menopause under pre existing conditions? I have come across differing views on this on another forum. I decided to include it because I am on HRT/Vagifem.

I don't think it adds any cost but I do think we have to declare it. When I got my quotes, I had to declare any condition for which I receive medication /have had a hospital/medical appointment in the last 2 years.

I’ve got travel insurance with my bank account and they wanted to know about any regular medication so I told them about vagifem. They weren’t bothered when I told them it was a form of hrt.
So no harm in mentioning it as I don’t think it affects anything.

I tried to declare it in the online medical declaration as a condition but it wasn't needed.

Menopause isn't a condition,it's naturally occurring,if you were on the pill, that's regular medication but you wouldn't put that down 🤷♀️ either way,I'm sure you'll be fine, enjoy your holiday

I spoke to someone at our travel insurance company about HRT and she said not to put it down as they weren’t interested in that.

You don't have to declare menopause just any symptom and medication you are on. I declare vaginal atrophy and it then says no questions needed. No extra cost.
You need to declare the last 2 years of any illness, tests, investigations and outcome and medication.
My list is up to five now.

I don't go abroad now as the insurance would be astronomical. I'm on 14 different medications, two of them keeping me alive. My mobility is not great either. I'm going for a caravan holiday in the Summer at a local resort with lots of facilities. It's a disabled friendly one. My daughter and the family are having one caravan and I'll have one to myself. I can get home in half an hour if I need to. Should be fun.

My sister and husband do the same Autumnwalks, their travel insurance would cost more than the holiday to go abroad. They go caravaing now and have a lovely time especially now we're getting warmer summers.
