EVOREL CONTI PATCH SIDE EFFECTS
« on: January 22, 2024, 05:53:34 PM »

Hi,

I have just started HRT - am on the Evorel Conti Patch. It’s only day 5 but I have side effects already. I have heartburn, headaches and my mood is very low. I’m normally quite an upbeat person but since day 3 my mood has been really low which I’m finding most difficult. The thoughts of feeling like this for a couple of months is just too much!!

Is it normal to get side effects so quickly with these patches and if so, how long does it take for them to subside. At the moment I’m on the verge of ripping the patch off!

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi!   :welcomemm:

can't help with what u should do , you could put the product names into the search box to see the threads.  Make notes ;-).

What were your periods doing in the last 6-12 months?

It's unusual for transdermal HRT to give digestive symptoms but a lot of women do suffer from progesterone intolerance. I take it you are post meno? What symptoms are you hoping hrt will help with?

It can seem quite daunting when you first start HRT but side effects often settle by the third month. It's worth persevering and then if it doesn't suit you you will have given it a good try and there will be others to try.

Do they always take three months? It feels like such a long time!

Three months is the recommended time for each HRT you try to settle in and any side effects to hopefully lessen or disappear. Some symptoms respond well before the three month mark and others take longer. Every woman's experience is different though.

I am hoping HRT will help predominantly with my sleep, anxiety and mood swings.

I will definitely persevere for another couple of weeks anyway with the patch however if the low mood continues, I will def have to remove it. I’m not prepared to go through possibly 3 months of feeling like this. My meno symptoms prior to taking HRT weren’t actually that bad. I’m nearly 4 years post last period and I’m 54.
