Hi I’m 7 years post menopause. Never taken HRT due to family history.
Just wondering if anyone has actually found any decent products that have helped with thinning hair?
Mine certainly thinned, dry and lacking. Feeling like in another couple of years I won’t have any 😥
I’ve started taking H&B vitamins Just in case I’m deficient.
I’ve had to start taking Ramipril in the last year due to blood pressure also so maybe a side effect but unsure

Mine thinned due to a vitamin D deficiency. Have you had yours tested? It's not normally checked on a usual blood test so it's easy to miss the fact that it has become low. Also thyroid problems can cause thinning hair.

Have you tried Regaine? It's pricey but apparently helps regrowth

No not tried it and tbh probably couldn’t keep up with the expense

If not thought of that so might be worth getting a blood test. I know vit b is on the low side but Gp not concerned

I think Gp visit is needed I think to rule out anything obvious rather than thinking it’s just menopause related

MayB make a list of of your menstrual cycle etc. and check your over all diet.  It mayB that you lack a vitamin for example.

Let us know how you get on.  I would have a lookC at various hair saloons in your area to see if any mention specialist knowledge.  Trevor Sorbet, a hairdresser, began providing real hair wigs for those undergoing chemo therapy for example.

When I was in my early 40s my hairdresser told me to stop dying my hair and that I would thank him in my 50s.

Obviously, this is my hair, your hair might be different.

More recently, my hairdresser (different guy) told me to stop using hair products with plastics in them. Apparently, almost all shampoos and conditioners contain things that coat your hair, make it look impressive for a while, but then cause it to be brittle / break. I switched products and my hair looked noticeably worse for about 6 months (as the uncoated brittle stuff cleared out), but now (a couple of years on) it's thicker and longer.

I also take daily multi vitamins and have a SAD lamp for the winter.

I found Nixon shampoo and conditioner really good, definitely noticed the difference in thickness and growth while using it. It feels lovely to use too, really cleans the scalp and makes it feel revitalised.  A friend of mine said that plantur 49 is really good too. ☺️

I recently went for a hair cut, the 1st since May so it was wild and woolly  .  Cost £35.99 and that was half price  including a head massage.  Searching round at local salon prices it seems they are almost the same, kids: 0-3 anything from £15.00  . crikey I would do it for half the price, I've got several sized bowls and some reasonably sharp scissors. 

What would U expect to pay these days for a wash, cut, blow dry?  There is a lady who cuts at home for £12.50.

How long does that take if U don't mind me asking?  It apparently depends on which 'stylist' 1 gets too ..........

I have a senior stylist and it takes about an hour.
