Hi, I`ve been on HRT 15 years now , I am 61. I started with Kliovance and was on that for approximately 8 years and then I started to use vagifem and Evorel Conti 50 patches, which I have been happy with. I had some intermitant spotting last year and after tests it was found that there were no issues and the spotting has stopped, but I was advised to change my HRT because of the potential of a thickening of the lining of the womb. I have been given 80 Oestrogel spray and Utrogestan 100 , once I read the leaflet for Utrogestan 100 and realised that I would have a withdrawal bleed , I went off off the idea of changing the HRT I was on originally, as it is very easy to use and no withdrawal bleed is involved. My doctor also stopped the Vagifem prescription and I am not sure that was necessary. I am going to speak with my doctor this week because unless she can convince me of the merits of this change I would prefer to stay with my old HRT regime. I was wondering if anybody else had a similar change and what peoples thoughts were in general. I feel a bit in the dark , I also wonder if I should be on HRT for such a long time. My mother is 86 and still takes her HRT.
