Estraderm patches
« on: December 01, 2023, 07:29:43 PM »

Hi there, anyone know what the 'base' is for the oestrogen in estraderm patches please? E.g. soy or yam? Apparently, Estradot is soy and Evorel is yam. Estradot is in such short supply (although according to Sandoz sales dept, should be back in good supplies by the end of this week!?) that the pharmacist has suggested Evorel to me. I can't have Estraderm patches as I have a reaction to the adhesive and other side-effects I don't get with Estradot. I'm just thinking that, if Estraderm is from yams, then it's probably not worth me trying Evorel either.
I have tried to find the answer online, but failed so far.
Thanks all  :)

Hey,

Im not sure of the bases but I normally wear estradot. I got evorel and I didn't like them - I thought it was a high absorption problem but just had bloods and it was actually lower than what I absorb on estradot. Im trying estraderm atm as I know they do have the same base. Someone said oestrogel may be a good alternative to estradot.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I don't get on with the gel either. I'll have to hope the sales dept at Sandoz wasn't lying!

There was another post similar to this. Apparently Estraderm contains the same estrogen as estradot. I've been on Estraderm for over 2 years and find it really good. I tried Evorel, Estradot and gel and they all gave me daily chronic migraines.

Estraderm is one of the first patches they made, my aunty has been on it for decades and is still on it.
