Weaning off hrt for s hysteroscopy, problems
« on: November 20, 2023, 09:36:51 PM »

I am wondering if anyone knows about this. I have been told to stop hrt for six weeks before a hysteroscopy.
Dose 1 pump oestrogen , 100mg utrogestan, for 16 months.
Horrendous panic attack whilst driving at the weekend. I was shaking head to foot, felt sick, blurred vision, thought i was going to die. I managed to find somewere to stop. Terrifying.
Ive not felt right since tried to go but out today again nervous , not to the extent previously but i but really don't  feel right.
I've  been taking utro every other night and half pump of gel. I thought this would be okay to taper down.
Does anyone have any advice please.

Are you having it under a general anaesthetic?

You don’t need to stop hrt for a hysteroscopy. I had a hysteroscopy under GA and carried on with hrt.

I had to stop mine aswell for hysteroscopy.
By the time I'd got my appointment, it was 2 weeks that I'd stopped.
Tbh, all I've had is a few 'hot' moments, and a low mood occasionally.
I'm feeling better most of the time without my HRT tablets.
I'm wondering if I will in 6 months times. 🤔 🤷‍♀️

Hello ladies.

I have recently been using two pumps of Oestrogel in the morning but as I still have the jitters etc I decided to try spreading the dose.
With this in mind I used one pump yesterday morning and then another pump at bedtime.
I have woken up feeling super jittery and with a cracking headache. It's hard to know if this is a reaction to my lower daytime dose or the introduction of the nightie dose.

Some ladies do report feeling better without their HRT and I would love to come off it if possible.
The last time I tried that I had the return of many symptoms but that was a few years ago.

I just wanted to record my experience and if anything of note happens I will report back.

Take care ladies.
