New horrible symptoms
« on: November 14, 2023, 08:21:09 PM »

Hello ladies I’ve not been here for a while but need some advice.

I’m 57 and have been in the menopause for a long 13 years I am on 125 oestrogen patches (MX) and I have the mirena coil. I have been having these weird symptoms and wonder if anyone else has had them. I start to feel strange (I’ll feeling)and my eyes start to hurt followed by a slight headache then I’m hot. I know these sound minor but it leaves me feeling awful.  Anyone have similar?
Many thanks.

Nothing is minor if it's happening and you feel the need to ask - is it a hot flush-type sensation?  How long as the coil been in, could it be coming to the end of its shelf life?

How is your diet?  R U hydrated enough?  Do you get a medication review on a regular basis?

Hi Clkd

I am due a review shortly.  I will mention it.  I must admit my diet is sometime rubbish too much sugar I would imagine but I am trying to cut down. I drink about 1litre of water each day.  I have been taking a medication for my ms and side effects listed include anxiety maybe this is contributing to how I feel.  I have missed this week’s injection to see if I still feel horried without it I’m marking my calendar with how I feel each day ias so far I’ve felt horrible on and off since my covid and flu jabs three weeks ago. My coil is only 2 years old so I doubt it’s that.

Another symptom I get is breathlessness well I call it that it’s more like I suddenly notice my breathing if that makes sense, it’s random and sometimes lasts hours and sometimes minutes I am usually sat down so it’s not due to exertion or anything thing like that but it’s unnerving to say the least.

How are you doing .?

Hi Smokey, I have similar feelings to you, feeling pretty rotten at the moment. I'm post meno, 67 and on 3 pumps new Oestrogel and new Spanish made Utrogestan. Since having my flu, covid and Pneumonia jabs a month ago I have had rib burning pain all round and feel weak, a bit shaky and no energy. Could be coincidence but just feel unwell. Had bloods done recently and all were ok?! Dr also thinks I could have fibromyalgia. Who knows!! I don't think I drink enough water either....
Hope you feel better soon.

It's not about how much we drink but the colour of our urine.  First thing it will be dark and mayB smelly.  As we hydrate during the day with food and liquids, it should become straw coloured.  Any lighter and we are drinking too much.

The 2 litres per day was pushed by the bottled water companies.  Many foodstuffs are converted into liquids by the digestive system.

Keeping a note for 5 days/nights of what you eat and drink: honestly: will show where you need to alter your choices.

Smokey, sounds like some bloods to see what your estrogen levels are like would be a good idea. 125 patch doesn't mean anything if you're not absorbing it well.... It does sound a bit hot-flush like to me...
