Annoying phrases
« on: November 07, 2023, 07:36:56 PM »

'It's not the end of the world' - I know it's not, but you've just invalidated my feelings

'Google it' - I'm asking you for help for a reason

'It is what it is' - Yes ???

Anyone else?  ;D

'it is what it is' - David Coulthard's book title and quite true when issues can't be altered

Not phrases but annoying words, my children can't seem to say a sentence without it including the words technically, literally or actually, it drives me nuts!

My son has started to say 'no offence but...'
I have told him in no uncertain terms that any statement prefaced with no offence is undoubtedly going to cause offence 🤣

It is usually directed at his sister,  and usually an insult he can't disguise!

Literally- a favourite with YouTubers. This is often adapted to ‘literal’ now. ‘I am in literal heaven right now’  ;D

Also ‘You guys’. We are turning American.
