You're not alone and would suggest you seek treatment for Vaginal Atrophy, do a search on here, there are loads of posts which are very informative.
I use pads every day too like most mature women, and I find if I buy the more thicker variety, they can be very drying and cause the kind of symptoms you are experiencing. I use Always Normal Dailies which are very thin.

For CLKD who has mentioned before why the need, to protect underwear from the Vaginal Atrophy treatment, what goes up comes down, and the necessary moisturisers one needs when suffering VA. Life is tough enough as it is without scummy knickers to look at too.

Always Dailies are the ones I use too, a I love the longer length ones, they are soft and don't irritate.

I don't have discharge from VA treatment  :-\.  Hey ho!  Make sure that the area between the legs/thighs are moisturised too to avoid chaffing :-). I have a man who would apply  8)

CLKD you say you get no discharge from VA treatment. Perhaps your VA treatment isn't working adequately?
I find the day after I've inserted Ovestin there is an increased amount of vaginal fluid around. I really dislike having scummy knickers so totally understand the use of panty liners.

My applications are working completely as they are meant to.  The vaginal walls take up the application so no waste.  Any natural lubricantion doesn't stain.  So mayB when there is discharge it's because the product isn't being absorbed?

Natural lubricant absolutely does stain over time, especially white knickers.

I don't think there's any harm in using a panty liner or pad every day, the vagina is not a dry organ and is continually leaking moisture of some kind. That's totally normal.

I'm new to the forum and can identify with many of the lovely women on here. I also have found myself having to wear pantyliners daily, this is due to excessive watery discharge,  which I now know to be a symptom of VA. I'm hopeful that after the loading dose and continual use of oestrogen cream and newly acquired yes vaginal moisturiser,  the discharge will lessen. However,  I may still feel that as a preventive measure the use of a daily pantyliner will continue.
I had thought the purpose of this forum was to offer support and share information,  not to judge others.

I use sylk rather than yes moisturiser and I also use it externally. It dries a beigeish colour which would otherwise stain white knickers so I would always use a liner on those days. Plus when using utrogestan. It's also common as you get much older to get a few droplets of urine leakage. My mum in her 80s used a liner every day as it was easier to change that than a pair of pants.

Why do we put up with urine leakage - we shouldn't be so accepting that these issues are age related  :-\.  There is a saying 'the right to be dry' ....... many surgeries had continence nurses to give advice.  I can see why panty liners may be necessary but would be concerned personally, if I had to use 1 on a daily basis.

The vagina is self cleansing until atrophy hits when the vulva etc. can become dry = VA.

I get increased discharge the day after inserting estrogen pessary but it doesn't last long. I don't need protection. Why is anybody rubbing? Or do you mean rubbing from the liner or from sex?

I wear pads everyday and I started feeling a bit sore and also when I wiped.  I started wearing those reusable pads and am no longer sore.

This also saves me money not having to buy them all the time.

Maybe give these a go.  I got mine from Amazon.

I seem to get mostly a brown or slightly pink discharge when I wipe, this has gone on since July with a few days free so it makes me feel that I have to keep the liner on just incase at the moment. Although on the 7th of this month I did have a really clotty bleed and for the first time in a long while it was on my pad. I'm living in hope that it's a sign of it coming to and end but with this peri who knows. :)

With my morning routine of Vagifem, Ovestin topically and moisturiser, I definitely need my panty liner every day.

Just wondered if anybody else has had it where there lady bits get so sore from wearing pads that when they rub just inside it bleeds and stings. Since starting peri I've always had a point just in on my left that can get a little sore when we have sex and I think it's that point that has now got so sore from rubbing with wipes and tissue that it may be causing some light bleeding. Just wondered if I was alone in that

I get this if I forget my daily prescription Ovestin cream.  It has worked wonders for my VA.  I used to use those little blue pellets you inserted far up, can’t for the life of me remember what they were called…but the cream is soooo much better.  I have one little patch of skin, and it splits and opens …just like a paper cut as someone else said.  Ouch.
