Hi to all existing and  fellow new members.
I've been lurking for a while and finally plucked up the nerve to join in.
Thought I was coping with the menopausal symptoms fairly well, not sure my hubby would agree, but bladder issues and all the trademark symptoms of VA have proved too much. Rather than wait for a telephone consultation with GP in a few weeks time I ordered oestrogen cream online and am on day 3 of loading dose. The discomfort , urinary urgency, excessive discharge,  itching is hideous and without this forum was unknown to me. Hoping the cream offers some relief

VA can take time to improve so hang on in there. I have found I need to use the oestrogen cream daily or my symtoms flare.

Don't be defeated - keeping to 1 thread and adding queries means that you won't 'get lost'.  Beginning new threads doesn't always generate new responses.

Back to the other 1?  U can go into your first page above and suggest that others reply in the one about the watery discharge.

Unless Emma the admin of the forum says otherwise, there is no rule about keeping to one thread. I do hope you come back and ask questions if you need help on what is a horrid condition.

Well done on getting ahead of the game with the treatment. Further to the cream you are using there is also Gina pessary that you can purchase whilst you wait for your GP appointment. I am also on daily treatment of both Vagifem & Ovestin so don't be scared to use more than what the instructions say.

I have read a lot of your posts regarding this hideous problem and they have armed me with lots of information.  I am hopeful that I will feel some relief following the loading dose , although urinary frequency is back with a  vengeance today.  It makes leaving the house virtually impossible. Isn't it great being a woman

It's awful.  I now recognise the symptoms ........ so up the dose of 'ovestin' to nightly.  I also take Nurofen to ease symptoms.

I will never forget how helpful the women on this forum have been to me and put my mind at rest when at over 70 I was diagnosed with Vaginal Atrophy. It still shocks me to think a condition existed that could cause such severe symptoms and no one warned me about it.  When I got my first prescription for Vagifem I said to my husband they will have to order this in, never heard of it before, how naïve was I!

Hey hunni hopefully things will improve in time stick with daily use. Well done for posting it takes a lot to pluck up the courage to post like you say you have been lurking for some time and majority of people on here are very supportive like flossie says you have done nothing wrong chin up hunni xxx

Hi  Clairemarie  , this forum and the vast amount of information has totally blown my mind. I have been reading it avidly for days.

I had never heard of Vaginal atrophy  before and now it's all I can think about, not helped  by the fact I'm experiencing some symptoms. I've been discussing it with my 86 year old mum who admits to having had similar symptoms but was too embarrassed to discuss it.
