Thank you for sharing this.  I long suspected my peri was kicked off by covid and each vaccine also made periods go wonky for a spell.  I’ve been mentioning it to friends for ages and it’s good it’s getting recognition.  I wondered for a while if time would heal things and the peri symptoms would disappear, but no…

Peri2022, thanks for sharing this.  I got covid right at the beginning and in 3 months I started to have loads of symptoms suggesting a sudden peri menopause.  It was overnight and I mean that literally.

I just thought I'd 'hit' that time, was shocked at how sudden it was, but decided to check out hrt.  Hrt seemed to bring me back from what was happening, across many systems of my body, but only by 90%.  But I figured that's good enough if I've reached 'the change.'  I didn't think what covid might have been doing then.

But all through the pandemic I'd have episodes of IBS, joint pain, weakness, fatigue etc.  I've never had so many things like this before and strongly suspect it's due to covid with peri menopause not helping (but might have been a more gradual transition without covid)

I'm so glad you found something that helped. May I ask what HRT you tried?
Xx

For me it's Evorel Sequi, but I'm still not right, the 90% improvement didn't last.  I don't know what improvement I'm getting atm because I suspect I'm far worse now without it than then.  I've still got a lot of issues, but it did help to start with and hopefully I can tweak current treatment soon.

Do report any oddities with hormones to the appropriate group otherwise hormonal upsets may well drop to the bottom of any research

So many sad stories! I hope we all get the support and information we deserve. Unfortunately research into Covid and hormones is pretty minimal - like all women’s health relative to general medicine - but we live in hope! 🙏
