Correct Oestrogel Dose
« on: August 26, 2023, 03:41:35 PM »

Hello all,

After being on Evorel 50 Conti for 12 months, I asked for an increase in oestrogen as I have begun to get night sweats, muscle and joint pain again.
Today I have collected my first prescription of Oestrogel and Utrogestan.
I don't think I need a huge increase, just a tweak really, but on reading my prescription label my GP is prescribing "two actuations" once daily.
Wouldn't that mean I am getting 2 x 750 micrograms? 150 micrograms?
According to the patient leaflet info is says each metered dose/1 pump contains 750 micrograms.
I don't want 3 x what I was on!
Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
I'm rather confused these days so anything is possible!  :)

I also have Utrogestan, which I am planning to take continuously as my bleeding as only just stopped after it a blip earlier in the year.
Thanks for you help

And now I've just read on "mymenopausecentre.co.uk" that one pump of oestrogel is 25mcg, which makes both my prescription and the patient leaflet incorrect!
It's no wonder I'm confused!

Hi you can’t directly compare patches to gel in the way you are trying to do.

The equivalent of Evorel Conti would be 2 pumps. If you want an increase on the Evorel Conti  then you’d need 3 pumps. x
