Hi Nas,

Sorry to hear this is all going on for you.  It's a minefield isn't it and all bit relentless.  How are your bowels??  I'm pretty sure a CT would show a noticeable cyst but are you having a TV scan along with the ultrasound?  Have you ever had endometriosis?  As Jaypo says diverticulitis can cause horrible discomfort and it can all get a bit squashed up in that area, bowel, ovary, bladder etc  Have they suggested a hysteroscopy for the bulky uterus?  It could be the fibroid causing it on the left side as you say.  It's very good news the CT didn't show anything going on with the other areas you mention although I know that doesn't keep the anxiety at bay all the time!  Musculosketal can refer all over the place and into the hip so perhaps a good osteopath and deep sports massage to see if that relieves it at all but definitely good to get the additional scans first - are you going to the gynae for that?  Take a copy of your scan with you.  x

In such a total fix.
Feel dreadful. Sick and in pain.

Endometriosis has never been mentioned to me. I had a hysteroscopy last February 2022 and it showed nothing other than a slightly atrophied womb lining. Now I’ve got a bulky uterus!

I’ve been to a&e and they say wait for the scan! I will probably be dead by then!!  :-\

Bowels are okay for now. Regular and normal.

I’m going to ask for a tv and abdominal scan. It will be at the radiology department within the local hospital. Then I’ve got to make an appointment with GP to
discuss results, then a referral to gynaecology. I can’t wait that long and already looking into private gynaecologists.

What to do? This is an acute pain in my left side with a shit load of abdominal pain permanently.

Nas I thought endometriosis was tissue growing outside the uterus, therefore am not sure it would have shown up on hysteroscopy. The type and level of pain you are describing does sound similar to what I've heard endo pain is like. Not sure how ther gets diagnosed though. If desperate you could always try a different a&e, I think it's dreadful you are having to put up with so much pain, I really feel for you. What type of painkillers are you taking, could you try a different kind?

Hi penguin,
Yes I thought endometriosis grew outside the womb too. I’ve had two hysteroscopy procedures and nothing showed up. I wonder if it would on an ultrasound?

There’s only one a&e in my area. The next one is a good 15 miles away.

The pain killers I’m taking are paracetamol and ibuprofen. Not working though.

My next step is to email the the menopause specialist whom I was under and see if she can fast track me an appointment for a scan at the Liverpool women’s hospital, where she bases herself. She  may not be able to help, but I can't wait until the 26th July for this scan. It should have happened two weeks ago, but the stupid GP did an incorrect referral.

If it isn't inflammation then I'm not sure that ibuprofen would be the best choice. Is that what a&e recommended?

I would assume that a trans vaginal ultrasound could pick up endo if it can tell uterine thickness but not 100% sure.

No one has suggested anything pain killer wise.
I have no idea what this can be at all.

Yes jaypo
Acute pain in left side. When I press it hurts. Can’t lie on left side. When I twist to the left, it hurts.

What shall I do? What causes it? How was it diagnosed?
Bloody awful 😢

It's not that dreadful Nas but what your describing is what I suffer,a course of ABs should shift it,the only way it can be diagnosed is with a colonography or ct colonoscopy,I'd push for the latter tbh
IF and it's a big if,it is diverticulitis,it's very common as you age,it's little pouches in your colon that become infected,I always keep away fro seeds, pumpkin, poppy etc as these are the things that can get trapped.
Mine is very sore when I press on it and also if I need to poo, I can feel it worse then too.

It says diverticulosis is often associated with no eating enough fibre? That isn’t the case for me; I eat loads of fibre.

Think I will have to call the GP tomorrow for help.

Thanks jaypo
There’s definitely some gastric issues here I think, but what, I don’t know. Pain after eating worries me!
