GP is putting me on Testosterone (after blood tests confirmed my levels are very low)

Any horror stories I need to be aware of before I start taking it?

Hi, and welcome to the Forum!
No horror stories here, I use Testogel sachets. It restored libido and improved response within a couple of weeks. It can take quite a while to work for some people, though. Not sure it did much else for me besides improving libido, but we are all different. Others here have experienced other benefits. I'm sure they'll be along soon.

I’ve been on it for 6-8 months. A flicker of improvement to my non existent libido, but nothing astounding. The tops of thighs near my groin are maybe a little more hairy than they were (sift fine hairs) but nothing more than that. No negatives. But I’m not sure about much positive yet either :(

Hi MenoMUM

Only to say I also had increased hair growth on my thighs when I applied the gel to my upper inner thigh and the inside of my knee but I now apply to the soft part of the soles of my feet and there is no extra hair growthm and it has gone from my thighs I am pleased to say!

Blood tests for T before prescription are somewhat inaccurate but docs should prescribe on the basis of symptoms, and to some extent menopausal stage....if your libido/response was zero or minimal and you're not taking meds or oral oestrogen that also depress this, then this is a sure sign that T might be needed.
