Hello and welcome to the forum. So sorry to hear how anxious you are feeling. Do you think your anxiety may be hormonal? Is so then HRT could really help with it. It is okay to start HRT at any time so if you do want to try it then that would be an option for you.

I understand. It is hard to wrap your head around HRT. It is great your GP has given you a low dose of oestrogen so your body can slowly get used to it. You may not get any side effects and often for people who do get side effects, they pass.

You are right, ultrogestan is taken to protect the lining of the womb. When you have a womb you need to take progesterone and ultrogestan is a progesterone. If you wish to you can pop it into the search bar and have a browse of the threads that come up.

Please do not apologise. You can ask as much as you like.

HRT is different for everybody. It is hard but the only way you will know is to try it. You can always stop it if you find it does not agree with you.

How about you put half a patch on? You can build up slowly to see how you find it.

Hello J butler and welcome to the forum.

I completely understand your situation and I do sympathise. I have also been post meno for a long time and most of the symptoms have been and gone but the anxiety and tearfulness have persisted. I am also easily panicked and a family wedding at the end of June is worrying me already lol.

I have had a bit of a bumpy ride with my HRT but many ladies do very well on it. In your position I would definitely try half a patch as Flossieteacake suggests.  This amount will be a gentle introduction to your body and it may be all you need to feel better.

HRT has never caused weight gain for me and that may well be the case for you.

You are very lucky to have a knowledgeable and caring GP and that is half the battle in my opinion.

As you can tell you are not alone in your struggles and the lovely ladies on the forum are here to support you.

Wishing you well and keep us updated.

Take care.

K.

Hi, another newbie here. I just posted in a different thread about my symptoms (electric shock on falling asleep etc) but wanted to come on here and say I really sympathise - I'm a similar age to you and have been very weepy and low and not myself. It's really really difficult. Just know that you're really not alone.
