Femoston 2/10

Can anyone tell me how long it took to feel the benefits of Femoston 2/10? I switched from 100mg patches 18 days ago and I have been suffering terrible symptoms ever since, it just doesn’t seem to be working at all yet

What’s the oestrogen dose in 2/10? Is it the same as the 100 patch? I used femeston 1/5 for a few months last year and found it very weak.
What was your reason for switching from patch to tablet, if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m not sure what the equivalent dose is, I didn’t think to ask, but will when I see dr again. I switched because the patches were not working either. I’m starting to wonder if anything will work for me. I have tried patches, gel and now this. I had times with the patches where I felt better, but so far with this there’s been no respite.

Yes I am similar. Been on many forms of hrt and just didn’t feel great. The 100 patch gave me awful period pains and irritable feelings.
Give the femeston a chance I would. What are your key symptoms?

Hot flashes have returned with a vengeance, anxiety and can’t sleep. I’m dreading going to bed every night and wake up exhausted everyday, which is making me feel quite depressed. Ready to give up and go back to the patches at the moment, I felt marginally better on those. I just wondered if maybe it takes more time, but everything I’ve read said you should get relief within a couple of weeks.

I think with tablets, there’s always the absorption issue to consider. They have to be processed by liver etc.
Give them a couple of weeks and see how it goes? It might be the patches suit you better?

Hi if you were on a 100 patch and you’ve switched to Femoston 2/10 then you’ve halved the dose of oestrogen. That’s almost certainly why your symptoms have come back .

Thanks Dotty, I didn’t realise the estrogen dose would be lower. I have premature ovarian failure so I see a specialist regularly and he had actually put me on 150mg patches as my levels were still low then. You’d think that he would have thought about that! I am trying to get another appointment with him today but I really am starting to think that nothing will help me now.
