My womb lining jas increased by 2mm .. doctor mentioned giving up HRT.  I had a scan yesterday as had (another ) very slight show.  Been on and off for a year or so.
I'm on estraddot 50 and 100 utrageston. It was increased to 50 a few months ago ..the doctor thought might help the odd show I had.  I've had nothing from October til now when I had a show and was sent for a scan.

Can anyone help ..would a change in HRT help (she talked about evoril combined patch) or do I need to pay £££ and see a specialist. I went onto HRT in March 2020 for the mental health benefit more than anything else.  I'm 57 and perhaps through the menu (I don't know as not had a period for 23 years as had mirena could..removed 2019 which seems to be when all my troubles started )

At 57 there is no guarantee you're past meno so perhaps they are your own periods? How thick is the lining? If you're still peri a sequi regime may suit you better. Other options would be 200mg utro daily or another mirena which can be the best option for problem bleeding. Increasing oestrogen was going to make the build up worse not better so I'm not sure why she suggested it. You should be on the minimum that controls your symptoms.

Hi Emm - at 57 you may well be through the menopause (especially if you hadn't bled for years with a Mirena) - the stats will mean fewer and fewer the further past age 54 you get but can't find data on this!

I agree with sheila that if the Mirena suited you before, then get another one fitted. In fact I have had to fend off suggestions to have one due to spotting or thickened lining, twice in past 10 years (because I don't want one) so the docs should be quite keen to give you one if your lining is thickened. Then you won't have to worry and if necessary can increase the oestrogen dose.

You DEFINITELY do not need to go for a private appointment to see a specialist. The issue is very straightforward!
