Safety concerns about very high doses of estrogen
« on: April 03, 2023, 11:27:15 AM »

Concerns have been raised about the safety of very high doses of estrogen in HRT regimens prescribed by some clinics.
Women can be reassured that HRT can provide many benefits when used in licensed doses, with it being very unusual to require higher doses.

I am going back a good few years now but one of the breast consultants at our hospital was dead against HRT because he was seeing too many women, including me, with breast lumps and cysts and it was all caused by too much Oestrogen.
I took it on myself to reduce my dose because I assumed I was still producing oestrogen naturally and didn’t need too much of it. I started to take HRT on alternate days which worked just fine for me, no more breast problems.

HRT treatments are more advanced now but still the same old problems happening, one has to be very aware and monitor ourselves thoroughly.
