Thanks Perinowpost, yes it put me off the pill and synthetic hormones for life until trying this coil, let's hope it can work out, when I spoke to the GP she basically said if you have it out then HRT is just not for you (!) I said no I will go back on the cyclogest. She said give it a few weeks and she thought the shock was a lot to do with it. I'm thinking I will take it a day at a time frankly. xx

I think they mean for it to stop bleeding can take up to six months, I don't think that means you can't go up in estrogen in the meantime especially if you are low. I even heard low estrogen can be causing extra bleeds because it doesn't trigger the body to think you've ovulated and release progesterone but I don't know if that's correct. I really hope you have a better experience than me, I would definately take any and all painkillers beforehand (I had no painkillers or analgesia which did not help) and make sure you have someone with you to support you afterwards and bring you home. I probably had a difficult cervix knowing me! And I hope if you do have any side effects I'm here saying it was fine after a few days. Also give yourself plenty of time to rest afterwards xx

Hi Claire no I didn't have itchy skin thankfully.  Has it settled any?  Anti histamines might help if not?  Yes I do feel a bit more like myself.  The weepy feeling has stopped and I feel a lot more positive

I totally understand where you are coming from donnafloyd - getting life back to some kind of normality once used to be basic level thing and is now the holy grail! Let's hope things settle down with it. A friend of mine who could deal with utrogestan she sailed through getting a coil fitted and says she's fine now so it can happen, just not to me so far, but I've got underlying issues with fatigue and so on, I really hoped hormones could help overall but finding the balance seems so challenging, do keep us posted how you get on and I hope we both find some normality soon xx

Clearly the calm before the storm. Period due in the next few days and I seem to have turned into an absolute monster. Awful mood swings, anger to the point of rage and a blinding headache with vomiting. Due to set off on holiday and I'd rather pull my own teeth. I have never had PMT this bad.

Oh no. :( I am so sorry. I really hope you are able to enjoy your holiday. It sounds awful for you.

At the minute my chap has retreated to Greggs with the csmpervan to let me decompress. Luckily he's at Greggs as I did tell him to leave the house forever. I have some oestrogen to collect from Tesco but I feel like Id rather take crack cocaine than start adding more hormones to the mix.

I can understand that. It is difficult to know what to do. I know the oestrogen can help but it is hard to take something and not know if it will make you feel better or not.

Thanks for being there Flossie. I'm going to have a long soak in the bath to see if that helps xx

Oh no jorainbow, I'm so sorry to hear this! And when going on holiday too! I hope the bath helps. My current symptoms are severe fatigue and breast and liver pain and a disgusting taste in my mouth, I'm not sure how much is the shock and how much the coil. To be honest and I'm not you and understand the concern taking more hormones and the need for the body to process them but I would consider the estrogen, it might help with mood, I would at least have the estrogen with you as an option, sending you the best and hoping we both can look back on this from a better vantage point soon! Xx
