Feel so irritable/angry/ ragey
« on: March 12, 2023, 12:00:01 PM »

Urgh here we go again!

I feel so angry and irritable right  now. I don’t think I can be absorbing the patches properly any longer. I could literally pick a fight with ANYBODY today 😢

It feels just like pmt!

I honestly don’t know what to do. I have  health conditions emerging out my ears and this menopause lark is grinding me down so much now. I’m 51 and have honestly had enough.

What can I do?

Hello Nas

I wish I had the answer for you but I do understand as I have been there myself.

I went through a phase of terrible anger and hated everybody. I was using HRT at the time and as I recall the horrible mood faded away.

I am struggling with another mood issue at the moment and it is exhausting.

Hopefully some ladies will be along with practical suggestions for you but you are not alone...this too shall pass as they say!

Take care and sending hugs.

K.

im so sorry.

i know that feeling well.

sometimes as well its good to let our family and friends know we're struggling.

women are great at saying nothing and carrying on. its not good for our mental health.

thats why safe forums like this are good. xxx

Thanks disco
I have no idea what the issue is.
Just so so irritable and crampy, like a period is on its way or something.

Maybe my oestrogen has dropped and with the mirena releasing continuous progesterone, I am feeling grim?

What to do next, is a dilemma. I don’t tolerate the 100 patch or the gel well at all.

Such a mess 😢

Sorry Nas,

Glad you are talking to the forum.
As you and I know it's so bloody hard some days. I know the anger only too well.
Don't know if it will help or if you are able to do so, but sometimes I just get out and walk, on my own, hopefully a route where I don't have to see anyone, and it helps sometimes, just a tiny bit. And yes, sometimes I cry when I am stomping along. I can't always find words to voice my anger and the many emotions this hormonal stuff does to me.

Keep talking here, all of the ladies on here help me so much, as you yourself did for me yesterday when I desperately needed someone

Hugs to you Nas

aw nas

i do hope you get something sorted.

maybe its the mirena making you feel this way.  im wondering if theres another option for the estrogen and for the progesterone other than the coil.

take care xxx

Thanks Sarah
Yes all a blooming nightmare.
I just can’t work out what’s going on right now. Could it be the mirena after 10 months?

How are you today? What’s that bleed doing? Is it slowing ?

Hugs to you too x

Disco, I have no clue. The mirena went in last May and no mood issues to report ( until Friday!) Very odd. X

Mmm, not sure disco
Trouble is, utrogestan doesn’t control my bleeding, caused by HRT. The mirena does.

Urggh x

Nas first of all I'm sending you a massive hug. It really does just feel never ending sometimes doesn't it.

I can't remember whether you're post or still Peri, but I wondered if your Estrogen could have fluctuated recently at all and this could be causing issues. Just wondering if a blood test might be useful? Xx

Thanks disco
Ideally I’d like to stick with the  mirena, mainly because it’s convenient and does sort the bleeding well. I would be reluctant to try any other progesterone to be honest.
I do have an appointment at the end of this month, so will discuss then I guess. Thanks again disco xx

Gilla, oh my lord, it’s hell!
I am post meno, so don’t quite know why I’m feeling close to death 😩 It’s all very odd. My oestrogen should have stabilised surely? Plus I’ve been on this patch for ages now. I will certainly arrange a blood test.

I know you’ve been struggling loads recently, so forgive me for not replying. I just don’t understand hormones at all and have nothing useful to add. However, you have my empathy and are in my virtual thoughts, as one who has also struggled long enough xxxxx💕

Quick question, can you wear a patch on the lower back, does anyone know?

Thanks for asking Nas,
I get the utter confusion you feel. Hrt seems full of tweaks, especially if our own hormones still raise their heads to fight with the hrt regime at times.

The bleeding has slowed today, still a grumpy stomach pain. I think I was just shocked and at the end of my tether, just when you think you can vaguely cope with all the sodding symptoms you get hit again with something new. I confess I spent most of yesterday crying...

Like you, I am on the Mirena coil to control bleeding, and for me, to settle the huge hormonal crashes , with its    controlling mood swings pmt wise, this  has always been my biggest difficulty, I am still Peri (age 56) she reiterates in anger and frustration...  I know they say it can take 3-6 months for the coil to settle, and bleeding and spotting is very common at that point.  After your 11 months could this still be settling down?

Am glad you have an appt due to discuss it all soon. Hope the drs can work something out for you.

Let us know how you are doing?

As always,  big hugs
