Hi all,

I'm hoping to go back to work. Last May, I stopped working and took time out to try and get menopause under control and a relationship matter that I'd felt wronged about for about 3 years sorted. During the time, I changed regime from femoston 2/10 to oestrogel (3 pumps) and utrogestan.

I'm massively better but still not quite there so nervous about whether I can do a job well. I'm afraid I won't have enough stamina to work as an accountant. During the time off I got the relationship matter resolved and also set the house up to do Airbnb so I have some income should I not be able to work.

My symptoms are not as severe as before I started HRT OR  since I changed regime September 22 but they are a concern if I want to succeed and hold down a job.
I'm suffering from overwhelm when there is no reason for, poorish focus and thoughts repeating in my mind.

Is there anything I can change in my regime to solve this?
Should I  increase oestrogel (3 pumps now) , mitzrapine antidepressants(on lowest dose), and/or go back on tostran testosterone ? I'm 53 and
Started HRT Dec  2017 when I was in perimenopause. I've no idea if I'm still in peri.

Since Sep 22 I've been on 3 pumps of oestrogel and utrogestan 200g for 12 days every 6 weeks since Sep 22.

Around Oct 22, I tried tostran 3 pumps a week for about 4 weeks. It seemed to make me angry although I'm not 100% sure as I started it around the same time as oestrogel and utrogestan so maybe it was a combination of medication all starting at the same time. At that time I posted here about going on the mirena coil as utrogestan seemed to cause problems. In the end, I decided against the coil as I'd have no control over dosage. I'm managing utrogestan though my husband suffers. I get angry, self righteous for about 6 to 7 days while I'm on utrogestan and think I'm probably  unreasonable.

The new regime took about 3 months to settle. During the time for about 4 weeks upto mid November22 my sleep was horrendous I was constantly exhausted. I ended up taking sleeping tablets for a couple of days and they helped a tiny bit. I got back in touch with the doctor and he recommended antidepressant mitzrapine low DOSE. He said that particular one helped with sleep. I was reluctant to go on AD as I didn't think I was depressed. It turns out I was but had got so used to it so didn't remember the old me. Mirtazapine has been amazing. I sleep really well and my mood lifted. I remembered how I used to be.

I had a lot of energy and got through a lot of work for the first 5 weeks up to late December but then I THINK I SLIPPED back without noticing. The changes just creep up and they becomes the norm. I blamed it on winter bugs. For Jan and Feb23 I'd say I had about 3 to 4 non consecutive weeks of low energy which I thought was a cold or bug. With the last bug  lasting 8 days it came to mind that it might be menopause and not a winter bug. So yesterday I upped my oestrogel dose to 4 pumps. I felt really good yesterday and became aware that for most of Jan and Feb 23 I was feeling overwhelmed a lot of the time over small tasks and didn't have energy to do many jobs. Mitzrapine has probably kept anxiety away so I didn't have the worry I had last summer. When my sleep was really bad in October/November before mitzrapine I was too exhausted to have anxiety.

My sleep had been poor from 2020 to Nov 22 but I could get by and manage to get to sleep using techniques such as getting up and reading or listening to an audiobook which would make me dozy. Those techniques stopped working Oct to Nov22.

Hello Lily 102.

My situation is very different to yours but I also became very angry when I was using testosterone. I was prescribed Androfeme by Newson Health Clinic but it was never the miracle drug for me and about nine months ago I stopped using it and I haven't missed it.

Other ladies will have noticed that I have been posting about low Vit D and the problems that this can cause. Some of your symptoms may be due a deficiency so it might be worth getting this checked out.

I am sure that other ladies will be along soon to advise you.

Wishing you well.

Kathleen thanks for the reply. I take a fairly high dose of Vitamin D so am covered on that one. My symptoms are very mild compared to a lot of people on here so I'm luckier than some. It's all trial and error so I'm really hoping to hear back from  other menopause with similars symptoms and hopefully success in treating them. It's definitely one day at a time and no assuming that the relatively okay phase I'm going through will last.

My thoughts would be to see how you get on taking the four pumps of oestrogel. You might simply need a bit more
