Stopping Utrogestan query
« on: February 24, 2023, 12:19:23 PM »

Hi
I am on continuous Utrogestan as I haven't had periods for over 4 years.
I am convinced that i am reacting badly to the Utrogestan and want to try stopping it to see if my bladder irritation and constant emotional turmoil eases or stops. But I'm worried that I may have other problems if I do this. Has anyone else tried this or been in this position? I am struggling to get a straight answer from any gp on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's fine to stop for a short time as a trial but not indefinitely. You may have a bleed when you stop. It may be that you need more oestrogen than you're getting now. Bladder irritation can be from VA and I think it's possible from vaginal use of utro too.
