Introducing what I thought was a complex case
« on: January 31, 2023, 12:38:46 PM »

Hi everyone

I am 41 with a whole list of symptoms which I started googling last week and came across this site.  I have no one I can talk to and no one in family has ever been through the menopause with every single women in my family having a hysterectomy in their 30s.

After a few days of thinking I might be pregnant (uh oh not right for me!!) and working things out,  I might have been 19 weeks!!! I called the doctors in haste, had a good chat with my excellent GP, and after 4 preg tests can confirm I am not with child! She has put me forward for bloods and explained I am probably peri.

My symptoms since October have been (and I must say intermittent and not all of the time):
Mood changes, headaches, odd night sweats, joint aches, period pains, weigh gain, bloated, breast soreness, spots, tiredness, backache, being more sweaty quickly, slight dizziness

I have been on cerezzete for 7 years so haven't had an actual period for years and years.  I don't have usual PMS signs so all of this came out of the blue in October 2022, I did do a preg test in December just in case which was negative but it has been playing on my mind this week so decided once and for all to seek help.

I look forward to chatting with you all and hope you can help me on my journey.

Hello Missvic and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have a good GP to recognise peri. As you are taking cerezzete and are okay with it you can always take 2 daily instead of one if you decide to take oestrogen as that would be fine as the progesterone part of HRT.

Well that's probably a relief ?  ;)

When. not taking medication periods wax and wane, as well as all kinds of symptoms stopping and starting  ::).  Lots.  Sometimes.

Browse round.  Some find that keeping amood/food/symptom diary of use.

I am just starting out on this journey so have no idea where I am heading yet.  I do not know what will be available for me in the future but will take a diary on going forward just in case.

Cerazette does seem confusing in regards to HRT if I need that going forward but I am sure I will learn that when needed.

Wish me luck

We all need a little luck!  Ask away. It's all new to most of us until we chat and share experiences.
