Hello
« on: December 22, 2022, 08:06:02 PM »

Hello, my names Gill, I’m 66 & I’m  not sure what’s happening to my body ! had my menopause 14 years ago , spoke to a third Dr yesterday, this one being a woman & she said straight away after listening to my symptoms &  without hesitation that’s it’s the menopause, want to know if anyone else has had this happen to them, I’m still a bit dubious 🤨.

Hello Gill and welcome to the forum. Are you saying you think you are post meno? Did you take any HRT when you were in menopause?

Hi!   Menopause = the last monthly period.  End of it all.  Peri-menopause are the symptoms that we notice as oestrogen levels drop off.  R U able to let us know how you felt until recently?

Can U remember when your last period might have been?  Some symptoms may begin after periods stop, due to reducing hormones.

Which symptoms bother you the most?  Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of. use to chart progress.

Thanks for your reply’s.
Cant remember the date of my last period as it was sometime 14 years when I was 52 years old. Had really bad anxiety for about a year, which then became very mild, developed dry eye some years later, then about 3-4 years ago started the sweats &in the past couple of years, started getting muscle problems, fatigue, dizziness, dry skin , plus other things , still have anxiety. What I would like to know has anyone else had this sort of problem where it’s been sort of dormant then reappeared? I’ve never had HRT as I can’t due to DVTs .

I have seen members on here talk about meno symptoms coming back especially when not on HRT. Maybe if you have a little look around you will find more threads were members have mentioned it. :)

Yes it's possible. Oral hrt is associated with an increased risk of blood clots but transdermal isn't. It might be worth speaking to a meno specialist if your gp isn't clued up (though it sounds as though she is).
