What to ask GP for

Hi, I have been dismissed by GP on a couple of occasions so have done lots of research and have decided to go back and be explicit about what I want prescribed. Coil being fitted next Friday for progesterone and I want to then ask for evorel 50 (which I think is a no bleed patch). Do you think that’s right in what I’m asking for? My GP is clueless but moving practice is not really an option. X

Hi Evorel 50 is an oestrogen only patch. It’s is a good start to hrt. It’s not classified as a no bleed patch.
The Mirena should mean that you don’t bleed, but you may get breakthrough bleeding whilst it settles. x

Just to reiterate that you should ask for Evorel 50 as Dotty says NOT Evorel conti - which is a no-bleed combi patch containing oestrogen and progestogen. As she says the Mirena will provide the progestogen. Some GPs who are not up to scratch may themselves be confused!
