It's sad re your gay friend, I'm friends with 2 gay men and they are of the same opinion, utter nonsense,I think we're their words.
It's these men who decide they want to become a woman, have the op,then date another woman and say they're lesbian WHAAAAAAAAT!!??

oh that's music to my ears re budweiser- didn't know they'd lost a fortune over it- no-one wants to lose money over this nonsense- i mean JK Rowling's publisher's are going nowhere. this and it becoming an unfashionable fad will be its undoing

yes, CLKD, it's because my gay male friend is male and seemingly unable to exercise empathy/theory of mind. But it's particularly bitter for me given the support he received from young women- as me and my female friends were!- back in the 90s. he knows what it's like to be fearful, frightened of other men but can't make that leap of imagination on behalf of women.

Also, gender ideology is so inherently homophobic that I despair at his adherence to it!

Glad to hear that your gay mates see the woo for what it is, Jaypo.

TOTALLY agree Vintagefiend. I'm in New Zealand where Posie Parker / Kellie Jay Keen of Let Women Speak was absolutely smeared by the press and then attacked by a pro-trans mob last month. Awful! I'm so ashamed at how she was treated. So great to hear young people are turning against this crap. I've always thought that's what would turn things around, when it was no longer cool or rebellious for the youngsters. Yay!

Hey Jaypo-

just want to thank you for starting this thread
I've been worried about gender bollocks for some years and find it doesn't go well with my blood pressure!
I have a teenage son who's always seen it for what it is and a teen daughter who was all "be kind" etc but has now come full circle- yay!! she says it's seen as daft by many at her school and kids are starting to feel comfortable in questioning it in class discussions (many of the teachers are a lost cause though). the kids do remain respectful towards the poor souls who believe themselves to be trans. anyway, big relief that gender ideology might be losing its shine with the "yoof"!
I've lost a gay male friend over it- horrible argument- I had his back in the 90s when homophobia was more prevalent- can't believe he's so dismissive of women's boundaries
I've often wondered what the women on here thought (not saying we're a total hive mind!) given our very female experiences of the difficulties menopause and our ages/life experience. I don't think there are many world-weary, middle aged women who are on board with Izzard etc- just simpering, spoilt slebs like Emma Thompson
Anyway, got that off my chest- i'm now going to read through the thread properly- taking breaks for my blood pressure to return to normal- I just wanted to say thanks before I do so :)

I think we,as women, should start speaking up though,we can all moan about the utter nonsense of it but then do nothing, these women (JK ,Sharon Davies etc) should be applauded for speaking out,yes they faced the wrath of the pro trans lot but they are less than 1% of the population of the world, sadly the media have a lot to do with it,if we just ignore them, they'll go away,as it's attention they want

This is media led, both social and broad sheet.  Which is a shame for those that truly feel they need to change.

Very well said poppytoast  :)
We also know a couple, who had son,who now lives as a trans woman and she is perfectly happy and still to this day thinks it was the right decision,I have no issue with these people at all,it is such a tiny minority that if the media would stop raking up,we possibly would never know but today it is clearly yet another fad and they now teach this in schools,if you are a he or a she or neither that is fine, aren't children confused enough at this tender age? And here in Scotland they STILL want to let children change gender,it is appalling, like you said,as a child, how many of us would think.....wish I was a boy but as you age, this notion leaves you.Soon there will be all these trans children wanting to go back to their original sex and at the cost of tax payer  >:(

Don't get me started on men in womens' sport simply by saying "I'm a woman".   >:(  :bang:  Article in the papers during the week about a man being part of a crew in the university boat race a few years ago, none of the women dared to say anything  >:( and womens' pro cycling are having similar conversations.  Many young girls are walking away after years of training .........

Sanity has prevailed at the IOC though, those who have bben through make puberty won't be allowed to compete as a woman at the Olympics.
