I did consider reporting it, but if the bloke claims to identify as female then they wouldn't be able to do anything

I'd read about the concerns women have about their spaces being used by people who were not born female, and how it makes them feel, and it did make me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable too. I can totally understand why women are concerned, and why they want to have "safe" spaces. Can you imagine the communal fitting rooms Top Shop used to have??
I've met a number of people who appear to have changed gender over the years, and have felt fine as it's been in an open setting, and they've been less overt in their attire, attitude, etc. and they wouldn't have bothered me too much in this situation, although I would have stayed around because of the child. With this bloke it was the way they were dressed (if I'd seen them in the street I'd have thought they were in fancy dress), and also their behaviour, because they came in and started washing their hands and looking around, and just kept washing their hands for what seemed like forever.
