I did that once and a man came out of a cubicle.   I thought I’d gone into the men’s.  When I checked they were for both.
This was in a M&S Outlet store years ago 😳

That reminds me of when I was on holiday,I'm standing in the loo waiting for a cubicle to become vacant and I'm thinking.....strange,why are there urinals in a woman's toilet...........wrong toilets 🙀🙀🙀 needless to say when I walked back into the pub,EVERYONE was laughing, obviously the kind gentleman who came out of the cubicle and informed me of my mistake had also informed the entire pub 🤨 😂

Yep. Done that too  :o….On a cruise ship, I made my way to the loos for small pee pee. The problem I had was that the figure on the toilet doors depicting male or female looked similar to me. It definitely wasn’t clear which was which. Needless to say I went into the gents. It was a formal night so the loo was full of James Bonds!! Ooh, that makes me Miss Moneypenny 💃 (heaven  ::)).
To be fair, I’d had a couple of sherbets by then  ;D ;D

Aaaahahahaha so not the only one then  ;D I once DIDNT go to a loo in the Canaries because on the doors for male and female were the symbols for male and female ⚧ ♐️ and I couldn't be 100% which was which  ;D wish I'd listened to my teachers more at school  :o in my defence, I too had had a very small Sherry  ;D

The first time I used a gender neutral toilet at a music gig I found it a bit odd but after that it was ok. Saves queuing outside the Ladies at busy venues as often the gender neutral ones are under used.

Every cloud... Perhaps the long queue for the gender neutral one will lead to men insisting on single sex toilets  :)
Even without women using it the lack of urinals will lead to longer queues and more men p*ssing on the seat.

“If you sprinkle when you tinkle, be sweet and wipe the seat” But they never do  >:(
I’ll tell you something else - I wonder how many of them tinkle and don’t wash their hands  :sick02:
I’m ever so reluctant to shake hands with a man (just in case!  ;D) Fist 🤛 pump’s best  ;D ;D

I did consider reporting it, but if the bloke claims to identify as female then they wouldn't be able to do anything  :-\

I'd read about the concerns women have about their spaces being used by people who were not born female, and how it makes them feel, and it did make me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable too. I can totally understand why women are concerned, and why they want to have "safe" spaces. Can you imagine the communal fitting rooms Top Shop used to have??

I've met a number of people who appear to have changed gender over the years, and have felt fine as it's been in an open setting, and they've been less overt in their attire, attitude, etc. and they wouldn't have bothered me too much in this situation, although I would have stayed around because of the child. With this bloke it was the way they were dressed (if I'd seen them in the street I'd have thought they were in fancy dress), and also their behaviour, because they came in and started washing their hands and looking around, and just kept washing their hands for what seemed like forever.

We used to have a woman who had issues with sprinking at a place I worked. It got to the point where people posed notices asking that the perpetrator wipe the seat after using. One afternoon I walked into a cubicle that they'd obviously used and was exiting fast when someone else came in. I just kept saying "it wasn't me, don't go in that one"  :o

When 1 goes abroad they are all uni-sex, have been for years.  In Italy 1 walked through the mens area where they stood at urinals, into the cubicles which had half doors  :o and lads would pull themselves up to watch  >:(.  This was in a hotel where the school trip were staying!  Lugano !

Urinals in the streets, nowt for women.  When those uni-sex metal loos were introduced, a child was drowned when she became trapped because she couldn't open the door B4 the water poured to cleanse the whole loo.

I think that all public areas should be covered by CCTV.  I think that if men were not trying to make women feel uncomfortable, the wouldn't even consider entering womens' areas.  Which is why regardless of what people want to be called, areas should remain segregated.

It's so long ago Taz.  Memory is vague.  After I think that the door had to be opened then shut again allowing users time to exit B4 it flushed automatically.

Not the case that CLKD is talking about, but I remember reading somewhere about someone who was homeless dashing into one of those loos after someone came out and getting trapped. If I remember correctly, when the person exits the loo locks and then the entire loo is washed with water jets from the ceiling. I think the homeless man survived but he wasn't found until the next user paid to open the loo. The idea was that the loos were more hygienic, and I think there was talk about using motion sensors to check for occupants before starting the washing process.
