Hi, I am new to this group and was after a bit of advice. I have been using Everol Sequi patches for a year. I am peri menopausal. I started due to night sweats and irritability and anxiety. They literally changed my life! Then after about 9 months seemed to have stopped working. The nurse has changed me on to Estradot and utrogestan. I collected yesterday and was having a read through and it keeps saying they are for post menopause. I am confused and worried to take? I can’t get hold of the nurse I spoke to until next week.
I was on Everol 50 and conti in a joint packet before.
Has anyone found these 2 new ones I’ve been prescribed ok? And it’s it ok to use them in the peri menopause?
Sorry for waffling I just find it all so confusing and my irritability is so high again x

Hi Clare. For post menopause the utrogestan is taken continuously but for peri-menopause the utrogestan is only used for so many days of the month. I've never been on this regime so can't tell you how many days you should use it for but I'm sure someone else will advise on that part soon. It's not fair that this wasn't explained to you.

Hi you need to take the Utrogestan (200mg ) for 12 nights on days 15 -26 of your cycle.

So after the last Conti patch of the Evorel Sequi go onto the new patches and on day 15 start the Utrogestan and continue with the patches.

Which strength oestrogen patches have you been given ?

Hi that’s less oestrogen than you were on in the Sequi patch. If your symptoms have come back then it’s likely that you need a higher dose. A higher dose would be a 75 patch.

That’s what I thought? Does the Everol 50 represent how many micrograms? It says 37.5/24 hours?
I find it all a bit confusing x

The patches come in 25, 37.5, 50, 75, 100. You were on a 50 mg and have now moved to a 37.5 mg, so it means you will be getting less oestrogen.

Yes, I believe it’s how much Oestrogen is released into your body in a 24 hour period. I would go back and ask for a 75 patch.

It is confusing that it states this but in the patient information leaflet it does say that for sequential use you add in a progesterone for 12 days so as Dotty says using the utrogestan for 12 days will be fine.
